Where is a good place to start for a complete "overview/how to" (or at least to get a basic grasp of bass sound/effects) as far as:

1. amp/bass settings to get the right sound for a particular style of music (ie. blues, jazz, rock etc.)?

2. A good overview of the effects that are available to use with the bass, and the results that you can expect from them?

3. What effects/pedals to start with to start playing around to "find" your own sound?

I mean trying to find the right options and combinations are a bit difficult, extensive and confusing to sift through at the begining.
