Funny! superbassman2000 01-02-2007, 09:08 PM while i don't have much to say about his playing, i do really like the tone he gets :) scottice 01-02-2007, 09:23 PM Looks like a Rickenbacker 4003. Sounds nice. http://www.rickenbacker.com/model.asp?model=4003 The Craw 01-03-2007, 01:21 AM Jack Lawrence and drummer Patrick Keeler have been the backbone of the Greenhornes for years. Check out some of their work here (http://punkcast.com/273/). They were also in the backing band for Loretta Lynn's Van Lear Rose CD from a couple of years ago. superbassman2000 01-03-2007, 01:35 AM Looks like a Rickenbacker 4003. Sounds nice. http://www.rickenbacker.com/model.asp?model=4003 i thought he played that gibson hollowbody? scottice 01-03-2007, 01:51 AM i thought he played that gibson hollowbody? Maybe so, but it was a Ric in that particular gig. SirCanealot 01-03-2007, 03:41 AM Is he the same guy that played with the Greenhornes? Aparently when they were supporting White Stripes, he's a splitting image of me and kept giving my friend strange looks. So aparently he's me from the future... the world will probably be destroyed if I ever meet him. But if it's the same guy, his playing rocks on a best of the Greenhornes I have. Been meaning to check out Raconteurs for ages ^^ TheApostlePaul 01-03-2007, 07:49 AM He is no technical giant but he has a really warm sound that I dig. To me, he is one of those guys that puts the right notes in the right place. TheApostlePaul 01-03-2007, 12:35 PM I just picked up the Raconteurs CD and it is great. I was no White Stripes fan but this is much different. The bass playing is just so tasty. I am used to songs with bass lines that chug along, only pausing when everything else pauses. On this CD Jack Lawrence weaves his lines in and out of the music. I am going to jam on this thing until my fingers bleed. It will be a great lesson for me to learn what not to play. VanillaO 01-03-2007, 01:38 PM Yes, SirCanealot, it's the same man :) Very tasteful playing. |
