Just bought BB615 as my first 5 string (4 string played 30 plus years) and I have Never tweaked or messed around with actions ,bridge pieces etc and change strings whenever I come into money (Not often).I know that puts me at odds with all the experts on this site but where to start ?.Small amount of fret buzz on E str and the B is a tad floppy but I gather that is fairly routine . Should I bugger about with the truss rod (probably not I guess ) or just raise the bridge piece for the offending string.Getting expert store help is a non starter as BB615 bought on the net and in the part of the UK I live in guitar experts are as rare as rocking horse droppings.
I just read a post re neewbies to 5 string...really useful and accurate for damping the B and not over doing the lower octaves...tried it and it really does work...but ALL advice very greatfully received.
The 615 is a real piece of work, beautifully crafted and so far the sounds seem very impressive...Its staying in the collection no matter what just to see it on the wall and I know I should learn more about 'tweaking' it but hey I dont even know how to open the bonnet (hood) on my car...thats for experts.
Thanks in advance
Robin
