I was going to try and hotrod my 70's j bass with an Aggie OBP-1 and keep the tone knob. But in the end I went with the Aguilar outboard preamp because I didn't want to rout out a battery cavity - this bass is an heirloom in the family and my dad would have my head if I did permanent alterations to the bass.
