Hi everyone, I finaly got around to registering on this forum. I have posted pic's of my new SB2 fretless over on the Dudepit but just figured I would post them here as well on case somebody needed to GAS for a SB-2 Fretless:hyper:

I know there has been some concerns on how the build and quality of the newer G&L's would be and I have too say this bass is perfect in every aspect, It plays and sounds like a dream and the finish is spectacular.

I have a new SB-2 as well (with the new 6 bolt neck, etc...), and it is also perfect in every way! I wish I could afford a cadre of brand new G&Ls based on my experience with this one!

Ugly. I'd better take it off your hands so you can avoid the embarassment of being seen with it. You'll thank me later.

Nice toothless SB-2! I thought I'd try to add to the GAS flames. I ordered mine new last year (since used ones are rare as hen's teeth) and it is perfect also. I just wish my intonation was better so I could play it more often (I know, I know, practice more . . . )

I just thought I discovered a missing musical scale when I heard all of those bass notes that don't seem to fit with what anybody else is playing:cool:

By the way it was the pitcure of your bass that I had seen over on the Dudepit that made me decide on the SB-2 as my choice for a fretless. I love these basses!

All fretless G&L's are made with ebony boards. I have seen a single exception in all the years that is at Buffalo Brothers right now. It is either light rosewood or Pao Ferro.

Some ebony can look like r/w...sometimes it's dyed black so folks think it looks right...

BB even says it is rosewood. I guarantee it ain't ebony.

If it's mine you're asking about, yes it's an unlined ebony board.

You've got PM, Alan.

I wish I still had that fish - I'm gigging my bugeye tomorrow (they do rawk, although this won't be a rawk gig).

If you told me that an SB-2 in Clear Blue with b/w/b pickguard would be a stunningly beautiful combination I wouldn't have believed you. I humbly stand corrected. Wow.

I had a green J-Bass in the late 70's and I thought I would never own a green bass again. LOL
