Anyone have any experience with this mic for use on bass cabs? A local shop has two of them, and they are specifically labeled "bass mic." Beyond that all I know is the price is fine for a used mic, and I'd like to use it for micing my B15N live. This document on the AKG website doesn't tell me much:

Thanks for your help.

Mud. I used it for about 10 minutes on one of sessions. Look at the Audix D6. I just used one of those in a session and it was really nice, I ordered one.

I replaced my SM57 on guitar cabs with one of these. They have an open sound that is quite good for close micing. Good qualities for a bass cab. But I haven't tried it yet.

Here's some info on your 3400: http://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=181664&highlight=AKG+D3400

Ive got the AKG 3600 (Great kick drum mic)
Its not my first choice for bass cabs, but this series of AKG mics
are pretty good quality and yours should do fairly well on a bass cab.

Funny that that thread mentions only finding info in German. I ran into the same thing. Interesting info here. Thanks for the link!
