can anybody recommend me some good UK, preferably english luthiers?

I've had a quick search but could only come up with Sei, anything else?

i'd seriously reccomend getting the magazine, i'm skimming through it at the moment. Theres Status, Wal, GB Guitars, Overwater, Shuker, Sei, Jaydee, Mansons - Thats just the basses pictured. Theres contact information for: (as well as all the ones mentioned) Rob Williams, Nathan Sheppard, Royal guitars, Gus, iceni Zoot and Clifton.

Edit: sorry, thought you meant custom bass makers, there all probably worth try though i supose.

These are UK makers of fine instruments and I think most of them takes on custom orders.

All great builders there, I can personally vouch for Shuker Basses (http://www.shukerguitars.co.uk).

Also, gotta give a shout out for AC Guitars (http://www.acguitars.co.uk) too, an amazingly talented scottish luthier, but not very far north of the border, well worth checking out!

I went with an www.acguitars.co.uk best bass i have ever played i maybe a little bias as it was my custom order but im about to order a second, and for the build i dont think alan can be beaten on price at the moment.
