Ok, this sucks. I'm selling the best cab I've ever owned. Because of my bad back, I've gotta go with smaller boxes of neo speakers. :bawl:

Anyway: it's the renowned Bergantino NV610. Not only that, it's one of just two made with red tolex instead of rat fur! Also includes padded Bergantino cover, which I paid $125 extra for. This cab is in truly excellent condition - always covered when not in use. Some very minor scuffing of the tolex, almost all of that is on the bottom of the cab. No holes/rips/tears except for one nickel-sized section on the bottom of the cab, and I glued the tolex back so it's barely noticeable. The metal grill has 2 or 3 very small dents but no scratches.

$800 including padded Bergantino cover, handle, screws (see below)
Six custom-designed 10" speakers, 750 watts, 4 ohms
100 lbs (a little less, I think)
Speaker jacks: two 1/4" phono
Side handles, tilt-back wheels

NOTE: According to Corey of Rock City Guitars (user RockCityGuitars here @TB) this is the first production model NV610. It was made before the top handles arrived. Jim Bergantino sent me that handle (with sticker indicating model #NV610 and serial # of 610A001PR) along with mounting screws, but I never got around to installing it. Another difference with later NV610 cabs: mine has OEM caster sockets along one side, done at the dealer's request. So, if you have four removable casters you can roll this cab on its side. It DOES have the tilt-back casters, so it can be moved vertically.

For now, this is local sale only, no trades. I will consider shipping this baby out in the future, but not until my back stops acting up.... gimme a couple weeks, at least! :( Right now, this cab is located in a garage in Beltsville MD, where one of my bands rehearses. So, it can be tested at gig volume... or louder. :)

Here's a recent photo. I'll also try to get more up soon (sides, cover, handle, etc).

Almost worth a road trip to Maryland for the local sale...almost. Well, put me at the head of the line if you still have it when your back is healed and you might ship.
(I'd have to recover my V8 in red - that'd be HAWT)

Yes it does! And it also needs a matching red tolex head case too! :D

LOL... thanks for the words/bumps. :) PMs have been returned.

Joker, I won't twist your arm... I can't imagine someone lugging this cab around NYC. But you're right, it's made for valve technology.

It hurts me to sell this, but sadly it also hurts me to move the darn thing. Sux being a creaky old man. :hmm:

Sure... at $2,800 I would have no money left over for a friend!

LOL j/k dude, I have heard these and they sound great... but I would be hard pressed to spend that on just one piece of the mighty bass tone puzzle!

Peace,

If you don't mind me asking, how do these compare sound wise to the Ampeg 810? Is it one big box, or sections? Sealed cab right?

Yes, it's a sealed cab. The placement of the speakers makes me think there are two vertical sections, but I don't know for sure, I never asked Jim B!

I would compare the NV610 to the original Ampeg "coffin" cab: tight and punchy, but with a little more range in the treble. I won't say any more than that because it's been 15 years since I've owned an 8x10.

Why are they always on the East coast. Glad to see that the used price on these are coming back down to Earth.

West coast bump for a great price on a 1 (or 2) of a kind cab.

Anyone have links to clips of a NV610? Or maybe some higher profile players using this cab?

Thanks,

Bryan

Pound for pound it smokes the Ampeg 810E. It's much more focused and smooth than the 810E. Don't let focused and smooth throw you, it has plenty of growl if you want it. I have personally owned two of Ampeg 810E's and one 810 cab from the early 80's. I still say the Bergantino would be able to more than handle itself in a bar fight with a vintage 810 too. It's without a doubt the best sealed 610 on the market.

Thanks, Bob! I couldn't have put it better, and it means more coming from someone besides the seller.
