I should add that the neck is actually a Jazz bass contour--1.5" at the nut and extra comfy to play.

"The sickest bass on Talkbass"

A shot of penicillin will fix that right up...... ;)

Looks nice, the price is sure right. Would love to hear what it sounds like. I've never experimented with upgrading wiring and pots, and I've been curious as to how much difference it makes.

A working musician could easily make a very good living using this bass with no backup.

How is the noise level from the pu's?

I am shopping for something that will be quiet on stage.

Thanks for the question. The bass is well-shielded, so the P pickup is silent and the single-coil J only has the minimum amount of 60hz noise.

How would you characterize the maple board as opposed to rosewood?

Thanks for the PM's, those of you who have sent them. I'd like to mention that the current shipping offer extends only to the continental US.

I'm willing to work with folks outside the US (Canada and Europe only, no Asia please) on a case-by-case basis. If you ARE interested, please make sure you are comfortable accepting whatever taxes and/or surcharges your government may add to the actual sales price--which I'll need to declare when insuring the item for shipping...Thanks!

How would you characterize the maple board as opposed to rosewood?

The alder body is acoustically dark, so whatever zing is in the maple is absorbed by the body and/or the flats. As a result, if there was a rosewood fingerboard on the bass, I think it would lose some of it's rich fundamental...
