I just had a gig in Fashion Cafe here in Indonesia accompanying one of a well known local artist. We only rehearsed once, and there were like 8-10 songs. Problem is I grew up in Canada, so I'm not that familiar with local top 40s, including hers. And I made a few noticable mistakes.... including the keyboardist too. The only thing that makes me feel better is that it was the first time I played those music, and some of the musicians were suppose to be more familiar with it, and yet they still screw up. I'm talking big gig. So it was a bit embarrasing for me.

Actually everybody including the artist herself was fine with the whole thing, but that ridiculous drummer is giving me that look now. I hated that, makes me think about it and can't sleep.

ANybody has that kind of experience?

It happens to everyone in every profession.

Just move forward and leave regrets in the past.

I remember reading a Jeff Berlin interview in Bassplayer Mag where he said that while playing with the group "Yes" he turned his bass off in the house in between songs to tune up and forgot to turn himself back on. The next song is "Roundabout" which has a prominant bass part after the intro of the tune and he goes to play his part and nothing. The whole crowd looks at him, the whole band looks at him and he has to wait a full two bars to enter at an acceptable time. He said he was embarrassed but he did'nt let it get him down. I would suggest you do the same thing, but I know that it is easier said than done.

that happens to everyone, ive been to concerts and seen some big name pro's make goof ups, ya just gotta shake it off and forget about it.

What's the worst that could happen to you at a gig? You could die... If that's not the case don't worry about it.
