I hadn't listened to my old Danzig cd's in about 8 years. I guess a bit of ol' evil nostalgia grabbed me, and I've been listening to them again - mainly I and II, III and IV kinda suck. Danzig's music still intrigues me. It's not the yelling in your face, biting the heads off of orphans type music. It's more of laid back blues music you can go to hell by.

I didn't play an instrument back when I listened to them the first time around, and I never realized how simple the music is. The chords are pretty easy, every song seems to be in the key of A, and the bass part is even easier.

My appearance and my lake placid blue (or is it teal?) '86 P-bass don't exactly scream "hardcore mother@#!%er", but I still had a good time pumping out 1/8 notes of doom and gloom.

On another note.... If you haven't seen the video of Danzig getting his bitch ass knocked clean out, check it out on youtube or elsewhere. Funny stuff.

my ex-wife did PR for bands in LA years ago. apparently one night at a party. Danzig got pissed at the wife/girlfriend because she lost his jelly spoon. no i'm not making this up....

Danzig I is classic doom. Perfect stuff.

Eerie Von was always very subtle, simple, and fitting. He outplays most metal bassists because he actually wrote lines instead of duplicating the rhythm guitar all day long.

Anyhow, I'm a huge Danzig fan. He's a bit of a jerk, but who cares? 4p is the second greatest album of all time.
