The good: Pots and jack were professionally replaced with high quality American components. Stock Fender pickups replaced with passive Bartolini's. The neck is a dream. Fast, comfortable and has a nice vintage vibe to it. Currently it's setup with slight relief and old Thomastik flats. It's gig ready and was my main bass for a few years way back when. It's a fine player. Included is the stock white pickguard that I removed for a more Jaco-esque 'look'.
There are no issues with this bass regarding playability.
The bad and the ugly: The polyurethane has several finish cracks. You cannot see them from 7' feet away. This "condition" didn't stop me from buying the bass. It's purely cosmetic. Also, there's a split in the finish at the headstock, again purely cosmetic. It's like a finish chip. The wood is visible, but untouched. The foto flame treatment was to add a layer of photo paper designed as flamed wood, then sealed. I've seen several foto flames with same issue mine has.
Bottom line on this bass: She's a player and a player will know it. From 10 feet she looks smart. Up close..... ehh.
Some good info on Foto Flames: http://www.xhefriguitars.com/page7.html
Price: $ 425 shipped to US48.
No case, but, I'll pack it smartly in a beat up premium Fender gig bag. Pay via Paypal.
