Thanks to alot of you, I am once again appreciating the "vintage" sound, an this show has some spectacular moments in Bass history....

highlights from last week:

Doors.....YES the one where he purposely says HIGHER in L.M.F. just to piss off ED...who suggested BETTER as an alternate.

Vanilla Fudge....holy crap, what a bassist! Bogart

Santana....who was this bassist???

The girl that sings "Downtown".....Wow....such beautiful pitch control!!!

This week

YES...Classical Gas - Live......oh baby

Who was the R&B Band today (wed)....awesome Thumb Tugging bassist

SAM AND DAVE People!!!!!!who was this "skinny" bassist????

Tune in if you can....join in if you want

The Doors used a bunch of bass players on their albums, but they were famous for having NO bassist when playing live. I haven't seen the Ed Sullivan clip. Were they playing, or syncing?

Tim Bogert played bass for Vanilla Fudge. http://www.timbogert.com/

Santana's old bassist was Dave Brown. He also engineered some of Santana's early recordings.

Downtown - Petula Clark. A true Babe of the Sixties.

Classical Gas - Mason Williams.

Sam and Dave's bassist - Abraham "Onion" Miller, maybe?
