Dose any body know what kind of FXs effect Ross Valory of Journey used on his bass in the intro of the Journey’s song Don’t Stop Believing?
Do you know the specific modal and brand of th effect used?
Cheers

There may be a bit of chorus. The Ross Valory sound is a lot of bridge pickup and playing near the bridge. That's how I get it anyway and people think it's a great cover. I think it was recorded with a Peavey T-40 bass.

I think it coulkd have been an SPX90 or maybe an Ibanez flanger. There weren't too many effects units back then for basses. I am just guessing as to what he used. I used to use a digitech time/chorus/flanger back then and I got that sound pretty close.

It was recorded with an Ovation Magnum. As far as I can tell, it's chorus. Don't know which kind, though. I also don't know what it has to do with Michael or Steve.
