SOLD!!!

Hartke 410 XL-series bass cabinet, circa 1990, excellent condition. It has been my backup cabinet, and as such has had very little use. Four ten-inch aluminum cone drivers. 8 Ohms, 240 Watt listed on back. Very punchy cab. Plays well but I have a Bergantino, and don't really need a backup. This is the good older model, not the crappy newer Transporter one. The cabinet has very little cosmetic damage. Other than some dust, it's in fantastic shape.

I can deliver it within a reasonable distance (30 miles or so) of Portland, Oregon, but it makes little sense to ship it anywhere, as it is pretty heavy. Locals can try it out before they buy -- see post #9 for details.

PM me if interested.

I've got my eye on a local TBer's soon-to-be-for-sale bass. :D

Didn't even know I wanted it until I spent a week with it . . .

We have to agree on when to have it if we've finally decided to have it here.

All in all, it's a very punchy cab that sounds really good in the mix. The biggest downside is the weight -- it's not light, and the handles don't make carrying it very comfortable. A dolly would be a good thing to have if you move it a lot.

If anyone who is local wants to ride by my house and give it a try, I'd be more than happy to let them take it for a spin. Bring your own bass, or try one of mine. I live on the West side, out near the Rock Creek/Tanasbourne/NW 185th area, and I'm usually free on weekday mornings until 1pm or can make some time on a weekend. On weekday mornings we can crank it up as loud as you want. :D Send me a PM if interested. Bring your own amp, though -- all I have left to drive it is my 25w Bassman combo!

Whaaaa?

Just got in from SoCal, but I'll kick in a bump for Bart anyway. Actually, I know a couple of local guys who are currently looking for budget priced cabs. I'll see what I can do to make it happen.

Avatar 212 and GK 400RB are gone to 4mal.

Hartke is still hangin' out, looking for someone who wants a nice punchy cab cheap, and doesn't mind if it's kinda heavy.

It's not sold yet; PM me if you're interested to come by and give it a try.

I have plenty of basses, but I only have the Bassman 25 combo to drive it with right now, as my main rig has the amp built into the cabinet, with no way to output it to an external cab. So if you want to hear it cranked up, you'll have to bring your own head or power amp.

Sold!!! Actually, I used the money to buy 4mal's Dark Star P bass:

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f245/bartmanpdx/IMG_0116.jpg

7.5 lbs., P body, rounded over J neck (SUPER comfy!!!!), amazing Dark Star sound. Plays like butter, sounds like classic old school R&B, a la Jamerson. It's rapidly moving up the list of my favorite basses. :D

Every once in a while, a Frankenbass works out really well, where the whole ends up being more than the sum of the parts, with a little magic pixie dust sprinkled in. The guy who rounded over the fretboard and frets did the best job I've ever seen; I've never had a more comfy neck in my hands before. The Dark Star is an amazing pickup, which works perfectly on this bass. And it only weighs a little over 7 lbs., to boot. I already have too many basses, yet after playing this one for a while, I knew I was going to have to make room for another, or I'd be kicking myself for a LOOOONG time.

Bart,

Doesn't you new bass need a proper introduction in the Bass section?
