How do I get enough sound out of my fretless when I slap? Any recommendations as far as eq, compression, whatever else?

Any recommended technique modifications for fretless? In the meantime, I'm still trying to learn slap on fretted. For some reason I find it real hard to get the hang of. One of these days, though (knock on wood), I'll have Wooten's doublethump technique down to where I can play thrash metal without needing a pick.

In terms of technique, I have to slap a little harder on fretless for it to work. In the realm of EQ, I boost treble and midrange and cut bass.
