Hi.

I have a little problem with my rbx. Its bridge has started to work unproperly. So Iīm now going to replace it with some other pickup. One opportunity would had been to send it back to the importer, but because i donīt even like the sound of that pickup, I would replace it with another.

I would like to ask if anyone had any clues what pickups would fit straight, or at least with minimum modifications to my bass?

(yes i know that my grammar isnīt perfect:smug: )

Anything in the EMG45 (Bartolini M5) shape will fit, although you'll have a 1-2 mm around the edges, so it depends on how precise a fit you want.

Well...you're right.

But you're also wrong. The EMG's and Bartolini's should all be blade style pickups, which means that you don't need to worry about string spacing or the location of the pickup poles. The reason I recommend that shape pickup is because the 775 pickups that little finger rest section built into the pickup, so the pickup is a 5-string but the cavity is big enough to fit a regular 6 string.

I also forgot to recommend my most favourite of cheap pickups, the ones from the RBX-375. They're pretty much a direct fit, all you need to do is carefully drill 1 hole for each pickup. To me they were ballsier, less highs, more mids, tighter bass and still keeping with the Yamaha-ish vibe. And did I mention they're cheap? You should be able to order them in as a spare part [but they could take a while...].
