Amazing bass for the money. This Gold Tone is much, much better in quality, sound and construction than the Michael Kelley and Epiphone ABG's I've owned. The top is solid spruce and the sides and back are laminate mahogany. There is a saddle bridge piezo pickup AND a condensor microphone in the body, controlled by active electronics with both unbalanced 1/4" AND balanced XLR outputs. No need for a DI as the XLR output sends a balanced signal to any mixer or recorder. I have it strung with new Thomastik Jazz Flats and it sounds great. It has a high C but I bought a 6 string set, so a low B is included too. The nut was cut for a low B, so you can switch, but there is no buzzing with the current high C. The action is perfect. Low, but not too low where you can't dig in a bit and the intonation is right on. The neck is a nice width and feels like Jazz bass type spacing, very fast feeling. A nice hard shell case is also included.
The only reason for the sale is I'm just not taking to a 5 string.
$425 includes ground insured shipping within the lower 48, or may be interested in trades for a 4 string ABG.
Paypal preferred, but MO's and checks OK too.
