VIEW FULL LIVE VERSION : Fender Japan non-export 32" scale Jazz Bass*PRICE DROP*
Humabass 03-13-2007, 09:35 PM Very cool non-export Fender Japan 32"scale Jazz bass. Olympic white, white pickguard, rosewood neck, EMG pickups. I don't have the original pickups. Never wanted to let this one go cause they are very hard to find. Build quality is excellent. Bass has amazing sustain. 9.8 out of 10 condition. A few TINY lacquer dimples and typical slap scuffs on pickguard. Currently set up with Fodera strings in standard tuning. I was going to string as a tenor or piccolo and maybe add a Roland GK Midi pickup but financial issues are forcing me to sell it. There is a VERY slight hum from the electronics but not being a fan of EMGs I was always intending to replace the pickups and maybe install a JRetro or Audere pre. Comes with gigbag. $550.00 shipped to lower 48 states only. PayPal preferred but will also accept US postal money order. Email for more pics.
EduardoK 03-14-2007, 12:28 AM Very cool non-export Fender Japan 32"scale Jazz bass. Olympic white, white pickguard, rosewood neck, EMG pickups. This is a 62 RI. .
A 32" and 62RI Jazz Bass?
Guess it can't be both at the same time.
I like the idea, though...:hyper:
Humabass 03-14-2007, 05:11 AM Yeah, I guess that is kind of contradictory isn't it? I guees you could look at as a minaturized version of a 62. It originally came with Fender pups (obviously) and original black three knob layout. I was told by the person I bought it from that it was a 62 RI but maybe it's not. Kind of irrelevant though due to the current mods and the 32" scale.

Humabass 03-15-2007, 09:10 AM No interest?:crying:
TheEmptyCell 03-15-2007, 09:32 AM Ugh. I'd kill for this. I've been itching for a 32" scale... but I don't have any cash! :crying:
midmoto 03-15-2007, 11:03 PM Bump for a cool bass :smug:
bongomania 03-16-2007, 01:08 AM Very cool indeed. I can't afford another bass right now, but the idea of a 32" Jazz is tres sexy to me.
EduardoK 03-17-2007, 03:09 AM Still like the idea, GAS!!!
Good strong punchy well round, sharp focused defined lower E ???

I was really amazed by this bass. I owned two 32" scale Fender Stu Hamm Urge basses and wasn't very impressed with them. This one blows them away in terms of build quality and just that natural resonance of the instrument. I was particularly impressed with the clarity and focus of each note and the thing has amazing sustain for having "just" the stock Fender bridge. I'm not as much of a connisseur of tone as some others here but I could find no disadvantage tonally or particularly in the low end range due to the 32" scale.

Humabass 03-18-2007, 12:33 PM I've removed the reference to this being a 62 RI. I was told this by the person I bought it from but I doubt it is since the logo doesn't look like a 62. Regardless, it being a 62RI was irrelevant to me. I've gotten some "nibbles" on this but no one has bitten. It's going to Ebay tomorrow afternoon. I might accept a reasonable offer from any TBers.
jeff62 03-18-2007, 06:59 PM Nibble, nibble. I'm hoping that you still might post some pics showing serial number and whether this is a made in, or crafted in, Japan bass. :) I PM'ed you my e-mail address.
