VIEW FULL LIVE VERSION : Ernie Ball MusicMan SR5 $1000 SOLD
Rick Blanc 03-14-2007, 08:53 AM OK, up for sale is my ’99 SR5.I am the original owner. I love this bass and the only reason I selling is I’m raising funds to buy the 20th anniversary SR5.
Anyway, it’s in great almost new condition. There is one tiny ding on the front above the pickguard. I'll take a detailed pic of it and post it soon.
Honeyburst, ash body, maple board, white pearloid pick guard. It’ll come with an SKB hard case and the plain white pick guard that was original to the bass.
This bass plays and sounds great. But you knew that already, I mean, it’s a Stingray 5 right?
Paypal (buyer pays fees) or postal money order only. $1000 shipped. Will ship insured.

youngheo 03-14-2007, 11:04 AM what is the weight of this bass?
Rick Blanc 03-14-2007, 11:14 AM I've never weighed it but I'll check it on the bathroom scale tonight and post the weight.
Personally I don't think it's heavy. I've done long gigs with it and the weight has never been an issue
Rick Blanc 03-14-2007, 11:17 AM BTW the serial number is E02438 and according to Ernie Ball customer service its' D.O.B. is 6/05/98
Rick Blanc 03-15-2007, 06:04 AM Oops, forgot to weigh it but my guess is it's in the 9 to 10 pound range. I'll weigh it this afternoon when I get home and post results.
Rick Blanc 03-16-2007, 02:18 PM what is the weight of this bass?
10 pounds by the highly scientific bathroom scale method.

WJGreer 03-17-2007, 10:45 PM Your Groucho quote - let me guess, you saw Patitucci wearing a shirt that said that in the liner notes for "Beneath the Mask".
I actually went out and found a shirt like that myself. Come to think of it, I haven't seen it in a while. Maybe my wife threw it out...
Beautiful bass, by the way.
Alistair R 03-17-2007, 11:47 PM That is one of the best SR5's I have ever seen. Killer bass.

I can't remember where I heard the Groucho qoute. Maybe like 20 years ago. But it just stuck. It'd be cool to have that as a T-shirt.

Thanks, I think so too. It's really hard to sell her.

Rick Blanc 03-19-2007, 05:59 PM Ding Pic. Now keep in mind I shot this to emphasize the ding. It's not nearly this ugly. It's roughly half a centimeter long.

Rick Blanc 03-21-2007, 02:42 PM Soooooo. Is my asking price too high?
DaveCustomMade 03-21-2007, 03:14 PM What kind of tones can you get out of it? I'm guessing this is a 2 band eq?
Rick Blanc 03-21-2007, 06:23 PM Lots of tones IMO. 3 bang EQ
suhrek 03-22-2007, 12:04 AM man.. looks soo beautiful
DaveCustomMade 03-22-2007, 08:25 AM Lots of tones IMO. 3 bang EQ
Can a warm and punchy tone be dialed in?
Rick Blanc 03-22-2007, 08:34 AM To my ears yes. Some prople accuse the Stingrays of being a one trick pony but I don't believe that. With the three band EQ and moving you right hand position I can get everything from the classic Stingray monster slap tone to warm and deep fingerstyle blues tone. Not to mention the killer pick tone.

Thanks. It's actually just a Canon G5 point and shoot that's no longer in production.
A lot of the sharpness comes from the sharpening tools I got from these guys
