Up for sale is the P Bass Special (2003 MIM) that I bought from Talk Basser EricF a couple of months ago. Arctic white with a tort pickguard for that "neo-vintage" look and maple fretboard.

This bass sounds great as-is...I was expecting to swap the pickups when I got it, but once I plugged it in and recorded a bass track with it, I didn't want to change a thing. It gets the standard P Bass throaty grind with the P pickup soloed and as you'd expect, a sound somewhere between a P and a J with both pickups at full. It takes very little effort to record this bass and get it to sit nicely in the mix. About the only thing you might want to change is to put a better bridge on it.

I'm including a set of TI Jazz Flats with this bass which are about six months old and nicely worn in for you. This bass sounded good with rounds but when I grabbed the flats off of one of my other basses and put them on this bass, it really put the icing on the cake sound-wise for me. The action is set at about a medium height - I found that I had to raise it some when I put on the TI Flats, since they are fairly low-tension strings.

The only noticeable cosmetic defects are a very slight area of discoloration on the body just behind the bridge and some very small dings on the headstock, neither of which are apparent except on close inspection.

I hate to part with this...always nice to have a P Bass around and the J pickup makes this one even more versatile, but I've acquired other things that need to be paid for.

Also includes a non-Fender gig bag.

$400 shipped UPS Ground insured to the lower 48. PayPal or postal money order accepted. I'd prefer to ship only to U.S. addresses. For sale only (not looking for trades at this time).

Here are a couple of pics. I apologize for the poor photo quality - my camcorder does not take very good pics.

Whoops, I forgot to specify...it has the P-Bass type neck profile (in terms of front-to-back thickness), but I think the fingerboard width gets narrower and closer to that of a Jazz at the nut.

I'm just about positive that all of those had the 1.5" nut.

Bump for a really nice bass. I have the MIM and the U.S.A. models and they are great basses. :D And that is definately a good price.
