For 3 years now I`ve been a happy owner of a plywood "Hofner" 3/4 with a Realist. It had a deasent sound. The only problem was that the neck broke so I had to use some glue to repeare the it. It`s been working for about a year or so. But of cause, I don`t relay on this repair so I went to my luthier for a year ago and bought a Christopher 603 F 4/4 bass.
I tryed the Realst both on the E foot as is usual, and on the G foot, but the sound was awful. Then I bought a Wilson pickup and a Gallien Krueger amp. to the 4/4 Christopher. The sound was ok but the "krueger " didn`t lift the sound, so I sendt it back to the store, and now I`m playing direct through the board. The sound today is not good at close range, but when you go about 25 feet away you get the real Wilson sound, I really it. But the problem I`m facing now, is that I do not like the sound I have when I practice, in a small shelter. Does any one of you out there expirenced the same problem, and does any out there have a resolution to my problem. How to get a decent soun on a 603 real wood.
As all of you might see, Im writing from Norway, and my English is bup, bup.............bup, bup, but I hope You`ll accept. But I have to admit I have been using the "OXFORD STUDENT DICTIONARY"
Pleace help me, it`s a small comunety here....
