I've been expecting PMs. I'll get back to you with answers for your questions soon. As far as what it replaces directly, I don't think that there's anything that it will drop in for. It was designed, AFAIK, to be an upgrade for 60s Gibsons and Guilds and other narrow spaced instruments that had weird, crappy or otherwise hard to deal with bridges.
