Myself playing Jaco's Continuum on my Kinal Kompact Acoustic Fretless bass. I had another vid of the song up on my Guild Starfire, but I think this one is much nicer. This was recorded with the bass plugged in this time too, so you're hearing the piezo tone through only the onboard preamp.

Let me know what you think and enjoy! :)

Very very nice. Beautiful tone, great playing, in tune. What more could you ask for?

Great performance, man! Great, unrushed feel.

...I had to listen to the Starfire clip just to see hwo they sound....that is one massive-sounding bass! Clear and huge!

Thanks. The Starfire clip was done before I had it worked on by Mike Lull. He did a full refret and worked on the electronics. Fixing the pickup pole pieces to the right level and re-wiring everything the proper way. I put an older set of TI Jazz Rounds on it too. Sounds and plays so much better now! I've been meaning to do an updated video clip with it. :)

You're awesome. If I didn't know better, I could've mistaken that for the real Jaco. Great job. I gotta get me one of those basses :)

Is that hard to play?

I dunno, it's fairly easy for me, but I've been playing it for a long time.

Your tone is fantastic (as is the rest of it, but the tone especially!).

Am I really the only one who think it needs more fluency/legato?

Your intonation and tone is great though.

Wow - really like the way you play it.

Guess I want to give it a try and start to learn Continuum... and it's going to be a long, stony way...

Actually the theme is rather easy imo, the solo is a b**** :D

oooooooooofffff

That is just totally destructive fretless tone. I have a fretless P and I love the way it sits in a mix, but I miss my fretless J/J setup because I will never be able to cop that tone again. Oh man, that is just such killer tone... 'gratz on the bass.

Oh, and nice playing too :) Your intonation is spot on.
