I know a lot of older music is mostly tube but can you guys post some video or samples/suggestions of current songs where it's very pronounced ?! If you know what the make and model is please share !

Just about all high gain metal is tube. Especially if it's warm sounding. A few bands of this type go Line-6.

Most metal, hardcore, blues, jazz ect is tube. There are a few "contempary" players i can think of that use non tube, or have used non tube amps in the past. Jazz guitarist Allan Holdsworth (sp?) used non tube amps, and got a pretty good tone, i don't have any soundclips or anything to back it up though, but I'm sure a quick youtube search could fix that.

Dimebag Darrell also used solid state amps (randalls) through almost all of his pro career, until he designed the Krankenstien, I personally can't stand his tone however.

I'd hesitate to say most music is made with one type of amp or another - that's impossible to gauge. It's also fairly impossible to tell whether an amp on a recording is tube, solid state, or a digital model - there's just too many factors that change the original tone on a recording. Technology has progressed so far that it's hard to find an amp that sucks anymore.

Could you be more specific as to what recordings you are curious about, and why you are interested in knowing?

I prefer and use tube amps on the gig - but for recording I mostly go with a good DI chain.
