Hey all,

I'm looking for recommendations for DVD instructional videos.

What I've found so far is either DVDs that appear to be focused on "basics" major/minor scales, root/thirds/fifths sort of stuff. Or DVDs that go in depth into a particular artist and the really phenomenal technique they developed that if I practice for years I might be able to play (half as well as they did) in one song if I really push it.

What I'm looking for is something in between. I've been playing for nearly 20 years. I don't really need the basics (not that review hurts) and I don't want to be Victor Wooten. I just want to improve my chops and learn something new.

Are there any good DVDs for Intermediate players out there?

Thanks!

Check out Norm Stockton's DVD series Grooving to Heaven. (www.normstockton.com) They cover a range of topics from beginner to advanced. Even the "beginner" DVD has a wealth of material that I love to go back and review periodcially. Each DVD has sections of interest to anyone, like packing for a gig, gear tips, etc. that anyone can use.

You can also take his courses through Musicdojo.com. I've done both and would recommend them to anyone regardless of ability.

Good luck!

Jeff
