Wanna help give feedback on this programmed drum track?

It's not meant to be complex. It's a simple rendition of a cover tune we do. We're normally a trio, but we'll be doing a duo gig soon. I wanted to experiment with doing a few of the tunes with an MP3 drum track.

I know it's not great, but do you think it meets minimum requirements?

What do you think?

Is it a White Zombie cover?

You might want to change up the pattern sometimes - IMO the hardest thing with programmed drum tracks is not making it sound too much the same and boring. The fills were cool but that kick definitely got on my nerves after a while.

Just my $0.02

Nah, it's a Greenday tune.

But, regardless, how does it sound?

1. Cool - very good
2. Good
3. Ok - just barely usable
4. Bad
5. You gotta be kidding

:)

Fair enough. Thanks.

The kick drum sounds horrible.

Otherwise if it fits the tune then go with it.

It's better than a click track :p

but, it could use some tambourine and a bit of police whistle...LOL

not bad for a basic track, IMO...

although, in addition to mixing up the pattern a little...(use ghost strokes to do that, BTW)...

you should consider a bit more use of dynamics, too...

but, all in all...a solid track...

Can you say more about why it sounds horrible to you?

[And thank you everyone - I Do want and need the feedback.]

I think I would rate it 2.5 based on your scale and also for the also considering it's intended use.

Ghost hits needed and much much more humanizing.

How about some dynamics.. it reminded me of the old player pianos - one volume level - this is particularly noticable in the fill.

It actually has different volume notes throughout.

But, apparently not dramatically enough.

A pretty useless post, but, thanks for playing.

It's good. It needs a bit more fill though, to go with the music, to appear as a good drummer would.

A second sample, of a different song.

Feedback?

well the kickdrum doesnt sound good, does pc drummer have any fx, especially EQ.

preset drumsounds always sound awful.

to sum up change the kicksound, and tight it down with some EQ or something

I'm inclined to agree with you, but why do you the second one is better?

What don't you guys like about the bass drum sound?

I would agree that, just playing the track with nothing else, the bass drum gets annoying. But, with other instruments on top, I think that bass drum is going to be what the doctor ordered.

Comments?

if you don't know what BFD is then my post is obviously useless.

maybe you should try google and stop making crappy drum tracks.

[QUOTE=SBassman;4029099]Can you say more about why it sounds horrible to you?

It doesn't sound like a kick... It sounds more like a mid tom or maybe a really messed up snare. It doesn't have the snap and boom of a kick drum.

By the way, if you want a really good sounding drum machine with some really nice functions for a very reasonable price, get an Alesis SR-16.
