MOVED TO EBAY

This is a Lakland 5501 is in excellent condition with just some VERY light, near invisible finish scratches. Back plastic cover plate has some scratches. One shallow ding on the back of neck in first position (pic below) Neck is very straight and action is set medium low, no grooves/flat spots on the frets.

Stock everything (Bartolini MK1 pups, Bart Preamp, Hipshot UL tuners, push/pull passive/active, etc). Switch was added to upgrade to an Aguilar OBP pre, but never got around to it. Bass weighs 9.8 lbs. Cherryburst finish (no longer available from Lakland) with maple neck, rosewood board, 35" scale.

What is the blue strip just below the string retainer (i. e., toward the nut) on the headstock? It appears to be woven over the B and E strings and under the A, D and G strings.

That's the rosewood fingerboard...it extends past the nut and is tapered down. :)

That fingerboard is so dark that it almost looks like Ebony to me. :hmm:

Yes, the board is very dark, but I don't believe Lakland ever made a Skyline with an Ebony board. When you look really close, you can see the characteristic graining of the rosewood.
