I bought a used gl-sb2. The last owner had the saddles on the E and G strings lowered to the max, yet the action is still relatively high. What are other ways to lower the action.

Assuming the neck relief is set properly, shimming the neck is the next thing to try.

A lot of people will use a small piece of paper like about a half inch cut off the end of a business card. I always preferred aluminum foil. In my mind a piece of metal transfers vibration better than paper but, that's just me.

I've always used a piece of sandpaper, assuming it would "grip" better :p

+1

Plus it's cheap, easy to work with, and easy to get varying thicknesses.
