The nut on my truss rod has been corroded away so i can't turn it. I don't think that the actuall truss rod is broke, but being a beginer my bass is pretty cheap so im just wondering how much it will cost to replace the nut thing and if its worth repairing.

Depends on the type of bass, here is a couple of sites that sell just the nuts.

Its just the standard Squier P-bass or sommit. Ill take it the nuts are replacable then roundabout but how much should it cost to get someone to do it.

hey Jack, go to Home Depot or a hardware store, buy some liquid wrench, or PB Blaster, press some paper towel under the nut, and put a couple of drops on the nut. Let it sit over night, and come back with your truss rod wrench, and take the nut off. clean the threads with a small wire brush, and some more liquid wrench, and wipe clean. Apply new nut with a light dab of lube on the threads, and you are set.
