VIEW FULL LIVE VERSION : Singer, Guitarist, Bassist, Drummer: Most-Least Female Attention
jm3sb0nd007 04-20-2007, 02:26 PM Singer, Guitarist (lead), Bassist, Drummer. I was told by one of my band mates that this is the order, from highest to lowest, of which band memeber gets the most chicks. What yall think? Course this is just for a 4 member band. You also have, depending on what genre you play and how many people are in your band, rhythm guitar, keyboard, etc...
N if one of the members does backing vocals or plays more then one instrument he gets slightly hotter women. Though imo the guy who plays the triangle gets the hottest and most women. What you think?
If you want, make up your own order, any band size, any instruments. Post some experiences to back your claim up if you want.
rushfan73 04-20-2007, 02:27 PM Swap drummer and bass and you got the order correct.
jm3sb0nd007 04-20-2007, 02:29 PM Don't make me depressed :(. Oh well i can play guitar too so i get bonus points lol.
Phalex 04-20-2007, 02:31 PM In my band it goes:
Singer (He's pretty to look at and he's super buff.)
Drummer (He's easy on the eyes, and he twirls sticks)
Guitar guy (50+ year old 6'5" lanky lookin dude)
Bass dude (Fat, sweaty, hairy guy that makes faces with his eyes closed all night.)
Jezz8me 04-21-2007, 01:27 AM well I've always heard people say "the bassist just stands there and gets all the chicks" but i think it goes Singer, Guitarists(unless he frontman) and bassist equal and drummer because all the gigs i got to the assist finds a spot with light close to the drummer but they always put the drummer where ever he can fit.
cowsgomoo 04-21-2007, 01:59 AM Singer, Guitarist (lead), Bassist, Drummer. I was told by one of my band mates that this is the order, from highest to lowest, of which band memeber gets the most chicks.
are you joking? was your bandmate joking?? The ONLY difference your position in the band makes in attracting women is that the singer is the centre of attention... so people look at him first... his position, rightly or wrongly, makes people assume he's the leader, the alpha male
but that's stage 1... there's about 5-6 other stages you have to go through before getting em into your sack, none of which have anything to do with what instrument you play... a singer that caught their attention but has no game won't get laid any more than anyone else
jaaboy 04-22-2007, 09:44 AM in my band it goes
Drummer Drummer Drummer Drummer Drummer...........guitarist bassist
Our Drummer gets so much...its rediculous :rollno:
Its gotten to the point where we dont even pay attention to girls when we get off stage because they are either going for our drummer, or asking us for information about the drummer. Its all good tho, were all good friends.
Like this one time, this one girl thought that she would be all sly and sneaky and come up and tell us that she thought that someone in our band was hot. And me and my two other guitarists were just like "Oh its [our drummer]" Without pause and we continued to pack up, leaving one very embarresed(sp) girl and one very confident drummer
skywalkerla5 04-22-2007, 01:17 PM we have kind of a messed up order. for us it's drummer, rhythm, bassist and singer are equal, then lead quitarist.
TeeMartin 04-22-2007, 01:51 PM Singer
and uh.... rest of band
Joshua Pickenpaugh 04-22-2007, 03:27 PM Drummer, guitarist 1, guitarist 2, sound guy, light tech. cruise director, captian...
...bassist (me).
IanStephenson 04-22-2007, 04:49 PM Singer, then the Singer, and finally the Singer...
The rest of us only get to talk to really drunk fat guys who want to tell us about how they had a guitar once. They usually say nice things about us which is cool the first time, but an hour later they're still repeating themselves and we can't get rid of them.
On the plus side, we're all attatched anyway (including singer), and none of us would ever "do" anything. A couple of times girls have got the singers contact details from our flyer, and started texting him. He's absolutly terrified that his girlfriend is going to see one of these texts, and think he's up to something.
Ian
unclejam 04-22-2007, 04:55 PM bass player first we make all the chicks orgasmic why do you think chicks like motorcycles?
been my experience that the best looking guy gets most of the attention, no matter the instrument.
Yankeesfan1115 04-22-2007, 10:19 PM been my experience that the best looking guy gets most of the attention, no matter the instrument.
true dat
mishy1031 04-22-2007, 10:31 PM Our band is a bluegrass band. So the order for the fellas goes... guitar,banjo,mandolin... they all sing, so that might even the playing field for them, except the guitar player sings all the murder ballads, so I think that gives him the edge. I play the bass and since I'm the only chick in the band, they don't (usually) have to worry about any competition-- haha
NKUSigEp 04-23-2007, 12:00 AM Whoever is more noticeable on stage...chicks that like band-dudes like 'em cuz they're publicly noticeable. So that's my answer anyways.
MarkMyWordsXx 04-23-2007, 12:02 AM what happens when you play bass and sing?
yeaaaa im number oneeeeee
Depth_Charge 04-23-2007, 12:35 AM Singer, Guitarist (lead), Bassist, Drummer. I was told by one of my band mates that this is the order, from highest to lowest, of which band memeber gets the most chicks. What yall think?
I think once you are looking for and interacting with those seeking a more intimate relationship than those that applying general stereotypes provides it doesn't matter what we do but how we approach doing them. My thoughts only.
Generally speaking though yeah, the more in the spotlight players are, the more popular and the more people will want to be seen in their company to share the popularity.
I go nuts on stage, smile and flirt to keep fun levels up, while the guys around me stand still. So I get my fair share of popularity visits by thinly clad, stereotypically image conscious girls, as well as the people who genuinely like me such as my friends attending the show.
Infernal Affair 04-23-2007, 12:46 AM what happens when you play bass and sing?
yeaaaa im number oneeeeee
True dat.
What if you play bass, sing, beatbox, and play harmonica? Not that I do. I'm just providing a hypothetical situation. :)
The_D 04-23-2007, 01:31 AM My sig and "My Name is Earl" says it all ;)
need4mospd 04-23-2007, 01:14 PM I'm pretty sure it has to do with confidence and how good looking you are.....just like any other situation.
Wonder 04-23-2007, 01:33 PM what happens when you play bass and sing?
yeaaaa im number oneeeeee
You get more than you can service! ;)
That's another reason to have roadies when you tour. :D
jm3sb0nd007 04-23-2007, 01:37 PM Hm, well I'm thinking now that provided that all the guys are equally good looking then it would seem that the girls would lean towards the guy that they think plays the biggest role in the band. Alternatively they could also go for the guy that has the most stage presence and can gather the most attention.
gkbass13 04-23-2007, 01:39 PM best looking=most attractive
worst looking=least attractive.
confidence has a lot to do with it as well.
and a singer can lose a lot of points by being a douche on stage.
Sneckumhaw 04-23-2007, 02:00 PM best looking=most attractive
worst looking=least attractive.
confidence has a lot to do with it as well.
Confidence matters more than looks. Who has a hotter wife, Rob Zombie or erm.... anybody else?
202dy 04-23-2007, 02:33 PM Caveat: Said with tongue planted firmly in cheek
Here's the way it works:
Bass Player, everyone else gets the leftovers.
Why it works:
Most of the other players are socially inept, self centered, music geeks who wouldn't notice a non-verbal cue from a woman if their lives depended on it.
The posers get the women that the bass players don't want.
Joey3313 04-24-2007, 01:41 AM Most of the other players are socially inept, self centered, music geeks who wouldn't notice a non-verbal cue from a woman if their lives depended on it.
So...TB?
mingustoo 04-24-2007, 02:40 AM Boys, boys...some of you have come close, but noone has hit it dead on yet. The singer gets the most attention. However, they are usually so full of themselves that they try to wheel ALL the girls which usually leaves them with none. The guitarist gets watched during solos and stuff, but he picked up the guitar in the first place because he couldn't pull chicks. No game is no game! The drummer is usually too sweaty for most of the chicks but does alright anyway. The bass player is the guy that gets the girls dancing-they remember that. Also, women are perceptive to the fact that the bass player is actually the one in control (but from the 'back ground'-catch my drift) has the best rythm and feel...and is the least egocentric (hence the bass). Ergo, bass should lead to carnal bliss...repeatedly....and with twins.
DJ-Jazzy-Jay 04-24-2007, 02:55 AM Bassists get the least amount of female attention.
DJ-Jazzy-Jay 04-24-2007, 02:59 AM Confidence matters more than looks. Who has a hotter wife, Rob Zombie or erm.... anybody else?
dude, sheri moon is prob one of the hottest chicks in the world.
cutthroatmolloy 04-24-2007, 04:26 AM in my band we are all equal.
none of us get any female attention. hahaha.
though the last couple of gigs i noticed that i had girls standing infront of me while the other guys had dudes.
pure coincidence i think.
totallyfrozen 04-24-2007, 11:42 AM Singer, Guitarist (lead), Bassist, Drummer. I was told by one of my band mates that this is the order, from highest to lowest, of which band memeber gets the most chicks. What yall think? ... Though imo the guy who plays the triangle gets the hottest and most women. What you think?
Ha! I guess that depends on which "triangle" your talking about! Knowing how to play THE triangle can definitely get you some hot women.:D
In the last band I was in, I had a rule...NO ONE who didn't sing AND play an instrument would be in the band (waste of space and money...in my opinion). So we all did the Sing & Play. But that didn't really even the playing field for womanizing.
Beyond ANY doubt, our lead singer/guitarist got the most female attention (and he was already married!...the bastard!). I played keys but I was next in line for the girls...simply because I made sure that I dressed and looked better than the other 3 guys at every gig. After us, was the drummer then the bass player in that order.
But hey...our bass player was uglier than a horse that got smashed in the face with a hot bag of nickles. He only seemed attract the drama-queens with 5 kids and tons of baggage. :bawl: LOL!
Oh well...
acleex38 04-24-2007, 12:29 PM We're all married (or seriously involved), have only played open mics so far, and the audience is mostly spouses, friends, and older drunk guys looking to make skeezy passes at our female pianist. I'm the only one a kid, so my wife is usually at home with our daughter - I score the least based on band activity, because I'm the only one without my wife/significant other in the audience.
I'd say the order (based on our last public gig) would be Pianist (she's cute and her new boyfriend was there and she usually announces when they're going to get it on), Lead Guitarist (because he's young, his girlfriend was there, and a gay friend of mine expressed interest when checking the pics from the gig), drummer (young, newly married, and not a big fatso), singer/rhythm guitarist (he's a big dude, but his wife was actually there), and then me.
Sneckumhaw 04-24-2007, 02:07 PM dude, sheri moon is prob one of the hottest chicks in the world.
That's what I'm saying. I'm saying I don't think Rob's that good looking but he's got confidence and thus has a hotter wife than anybody else in the world.
Jumpsuit 04-25-2007, 10:26 AM It's the looks...
I remember, we were like 18-20 years old, and our band was doing quite well (to local standards anyway).
So our band had this 30 minute gig in a contest, in a large tent. The performance went well (I was lead-singer/guitarist then), we won the first prize, and afterwards I walk out of the tent... to see several (5 or 7) pretty girls running up to me, yelling "oh you were so great, you were the best!". So I plant my feet in the ground, ready to receive so many tokens of sympathy.:hyper:
They all pass me by without even looking at me, and go hug our keyboardist, who was walking right behind me, which I didn't know.
Agreed, he was a real stunner then.:hmm:
Deacon_Blues 04-25-2007, 02:15 PM I cannot really tell an order because it's totally depending on the personalities. But in general, it's the singer who gets the most attention. At least on stage.
What happens afterwards can be a completely different story. I sing lead, play the bass, lead the band, and I try to keep up the show too. I've heard I'm quite good looking and that I'm a really good singer, but I don't get too much attention after the show anyway. I just lack confidence when it comes to girls. Too boring maybe. That sucks... :bawl: But last weekend boosted my confidence a bit again.. :smug:
Boys, boys...some of you have come close, but noone has hit it dead on yet. The singer gets the most attention. Of course, this is where your mastery of right hand fingerstyle
technique becomes all important.
improvpwnd 04-25-2007, 02:32 PM girls can't tell the difference between a guitar and a bass anyway.;)
Sneckumhaw 04-25-2007, 03:39 PM Of course, this is where your mastery of right hand fingerstyle
technique becomes all important.
Or a plectrum, if that's your bag. :D
Jerry Ziarko 04-25-2007, 08:14 PM All of the above! :D
jm3sb0nd007 04-25-2007, 11:02 PM ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
little self esteem boost is what that is :hyper:
rusty66 05-02-2007, 06:19 AM One of two scenarios, Drummer in a spinning cage whilst doing a drum solo, OR, Any chick bassist!!
JeffC 05-02-2007, 09:20 AM True dat.
What if you play bass, sing, beatbox, and play harmonica? Not that I do. I'm just providing a hypothetical situation. :)
LOL, except the for beatboxing, thats me!! :smug:
But I have to say the person who is most entertain to watch gets the ladies (looks help too). My band has 3 regular members being me the drummer and guitarist. All in shape, relatively good looking and all sing at one point or another but I'm usually the one that is bouncing all around and really showing how much fun I'm having. Just got to make yourself noticed it all.:bassist:
Yngwie 4String 05-03-2007, 03:15 AM Im not in a band right now, but I was a while ago. It went like this.
Bass (me)-Im just f***ing cool
Drummer - Atheletic dude starting football linebacker
Guitarist - Not an attractive dude, could play very well though
Singer - Had a girlfriend and therefore not on the market
I played black/thrash metal we all got pretty close to the same amount of chicks.
K-Punk 05-03-2007, 12:59 PM Quality over quantity my dear boys....I don't get all the girls all the time being the bass man.But I do get the best girls some of the time. Even if the guitar player is parting the poonany like Moses parted the red sea.
I eventually end up with the quality hottie.....So bide your time my low end love slingers and you too will be in a long distance relationship with some 20 year old hottie body karate from S.Dakota that eventually moves in with you, uses you for your connections to get further ahead in life and then takes a big hot steaming s**t right were your heart used to be...lol..
So go my bass brothers. Go and and enjoy the spoils of war...Enjoy...
P.S.
You bess wear a jimmy hat son cause you never know what other qualities she has in her. ;)
peaveyuser 05-03-2007, 05:53 PM I played black/thrash metal we all got pretty close to the same amount of chicks.
So none basically?
Dincrest 05-03-2007, 06:40 PM I figure the stereotype goes like this:
The singer gets the creepy stalker girls who think they know him on some deep level.
The guitarist gets the slutty girls. (Well, guitarists are stereotyped as stage wh*r*s)
The drummer gets the hottest girls (most hot girls I know are *really* into drummers)
The bassist gets the smart girls. (Well, I use the joke as the bassist gets no girls because the bassist is either a girl herself, or is too busy hustling gigs, managing difficult musician personalities, learning every instrument in the band, singing, and covering other musicians who don't show up, don't know the tunes, can't read music, and don't care if they're late.)
Yngwie 4String 05-07-2007, 12:55 PM Dude why do people think metal bands dont get chicks? Angela Gossow, Amy Lee, Christina Scabbia, ect Chicks like metal too.
peaveyuser 05-07-2007, 10:37 PM Dude why do people think metal bands dont get chicks? Angela Gossow, Amy Lee, Christina Scabbia, ect Chicks like metal too.
No metal bands get girls i'm just saying black metal is in a whole different scenario. I don't think this http://immortal.battlegrim.net/img/photos/photosession_2002_sons_of_northern_darkness/big/photosession_2002_sons_of_northern_darkness_08.jpg
will attract the opposite sex much.
Yngwie 4String 05-08-2007, 10:45 AM LOL Immortal, yeah I see your point, but I did a blend of melodic black metal and thrash (think Slayer meets Dimmu Borgir or Cradle of Filth) Chicks like the symphonic elements like the violin.
Ben B 05-08-2007, 12:23 PM Singer, Guitarist (lead), Bassist, Drummer.
+1. This was the order for two of my bands. In one band the order was Bassist (me), Drummer. The guitarist/singer was married and his wife was almost always at the gigs, so, he wasn't getting girls--at least not that I noticed.
Ben
Indiana920 05-10-2007, 12:06 PM when I was in my school band we all got no attention but a few days after we did this awards evening gig i was talking with my drummer and lead guitarist, this girl walks up to us and i jokingly say "sorry band members only" she looks at our drummer and says "you're not in the band".
we just burst out laughing at him
Daytona955i 05-12-2007, 11:55 PM It depends on how much you rock! The singer usually starts out with a head start because he's got the mic, the rest is up to how much you can rock and whether chicks dig it.
