So..
My last build was an electric guitar for my first customer..
He wanted a simple guitar, with a huge warm sound (lots of low end) but that still sounds tight and doesn't mud..

So now I want a simple bass with a huge & tight sound..
specs:
----------------
body: white korina
neck: 1 piece maple (fretboard and neck out of 1 piece)
pickups: 2 x MM style (not sure what brand) pickups will be about in Wall posistion
electronics: 2 x serie/single/parallel switch + volume control,
and maybe something to boost the highs
hardware: gotoh GB7's tuners, AMB 3D bridge (drilled string through body)
truss rod: vintage style, routed from backside of the neck
frets: 24, jumbo's
nut: graphtech
so here are some pics:

So I'm not to worried how the bass itself will sound (it allready sound very loud and clear played unplugged and sustains forever) also, my boss is a master luthier so he gives me all the advise I need..
I'm more worried about the pickups, I want MM style pickups with a lot of clarity.. I know the seymour duncan have that sound but they are really expensive here..
How do you guys think the Delano's sound compared to the seymour duncan's?
One more question:
What kind of finish do you think will look good on this bass?
I was thinking of a trasparant black or green high gloss finish..
all input is welcome..
