i've done a few mods and have built 2 guitars out of parts, but nothing close to actually building my own creation.

i consider being a luthier as a serious future career option (and i'm not worrying about real training or apprenticeships etc. yet seeing as i'm 14 years old)

so i figured a good place to start would be to get some good books, and slowly work my way up (by 18 i should be reasonably competant)

i've seen a couple of threads that mentioned some good books on building, but after a big scout around talkbass, i've found nothing

so any good advice on which books to get, and also i think it would be quite interesting to find out how any of you pros started out

thanks
