Thinking of trying some Reverend P pups as I've read on TB they are pretty good and are very economical. $12 + $6 shipping.
How do they sound? Comparable to vintage USA Fender?

FWIW:
kind of strange post cause apparently you've already read what guys on TB have to say.
But I'd say the 8.7's (think they were) are very comparable to vintage Fender, the 10.whatevers no, the 7.whatevers don't know - didn't have them.
I don't know that they're all (if any) still availabe either, at least at that price.

Looks like the only stock that's left is the 7.3 P. REVEREND PARTS (http://www.reverendguitars.com/reverend/guitar_bass_parts.html)
I heard great things about them on forums, so I have a P/J set that has waited about a year for a bass to go into. My P is the 8.? one, the description said it was the one they use in their P/J models.
If you want Fender-esque sound the 7.3 may be a little thin, but that's not a lot of cash to spend for an experiment.

Yeah, I think I'm just going to go with the Nord NP4s.
