Hi TalkBass folks,

I don't post here much as I'm usually over at The Gear Page and other places (don't shoot, please:eek: ).

I'm selling my Sadowsky NYC Jazz 4-string as it has gone completely unused - this is no exaggeration - it is mint in case and has not even been plugged in, yet. I bought it for a project that never happened and it sits minty fresh in its case...

Here are the particulars from Roger & team:
FINISH: '59 Burst
BODY :AAA Quilted Maple on Swamp Ash
FINGERBOARD: Cocobolo, 12" Radius
PICKGUARD: Parchment
HARDWARE: Chrome
PICKUPS: Sadowsky Humcancelling
WEIGHT: 7.95 lbs. (3.61 kg)

And here's the Sadowsky link:

http://www.sadowsky.com/stock/view/4446.html

SOLD

Of course, it comes with all the case candy and the outstanding Sadowsky case as shipped to me...

I do many big-ticket gear transactions on TGP and eBay as 'mgrier1' please check both of those for references to gain more info on me...

Please contact me at mgrier@cisco.com with interest or questions...

Thanks for all the comments and questions...

To answer a couple of questions: This bass has the "AAA rare maple top" upgrade as well as the "Vintage-Style Bass" upgrade as per the Sadowsky price sheet... My cost was $3725 shipped.

I bought it played a couple of lines on it, peeled the plastic off as I knew I would not return it and kept it in its case... It is pristine...

This one is an absolute gem and needs an owner who will play it regularly...

Here's the stock photo from Sadowsky:

Hope this helps!

One more bump and price drop...

$3025 shipped CONUS/PP'ed...

That's $700 less than I paid for this new... And it is still like new since it has not been used. Don't let this one go to the Bay - it is a gem!

Best,

Mike

Hi, nice bass. What's the deal with the cocobolo fingerboard? I heard that Roger has only made one of these in 25 years. Guess you have it. My only concern is that he expressed it is much inferior to the roseboards that he offers. How does it sound? What's type of tone does it offer?

Thanks.

Inferior? I have heard/read no such thing from Roger...

His only complaint that I heard of is that it is difficult wood to work with due to the dust being tough to breathe...

First of all, it has gorgeous figuring and seems to have the feel/density somewhere between Maple & Rosewood, IMO...

Since I have not plugged the bass in since I bought it from Sadowsky, I could not comment on tone...

Hope this helps,

Mike

Sorry? Not sure I referred to it as such...

I must be missing something in the internet humor translation front...

Care to explain?

Best to you,

Mike
