This is the lowest priced Sadowsky I have ever heard of. I bought this bass a few weeks ago, but I ended up liking my MS4 a little better. I'm buying a Thunderbird, so unfortunately I have to let this one go. It was upgraded with Sadowsky single-coils and the vtc control. Those upgrades are around $325 plus the shipping costs. The body is alder and it has a Morado fingerboard. It also sports a new set of Sadowsky Nickels and a fresh setup to Sadowsky specs, which it needed badly. I just got my MS4 back from Sadowsky where it was receiving a setup. I measured everything on it with a precision straight-edge and set the RV4 to the exact same specs. It plays and sounds beautiful now. I also cleaned the entire bass with Dunlop guitar cleaner. I don't know about anyone else, but I hate getting a nasty bass. This RV4 also comes with a Sadowsky hard/soft case.
It has a much smoother sound than my MS4. The tone is very full and rich. I'm very tempted to keep it and slap some flats on it.
The bass has a large paint chip around the output jack. The previous owner dropped it on the jack. There is a shallow chip in the wood and the jack is pressed into the wood a tiny bit because of this. The bass is very solid. The damage is cosmetic only. This bass also has a decent amount of players wear, including some dings, scratches and buckle rash. Anyone who wants closeups, just send me your email address.
