VIEW FULL LIVE VERSION : Bass Central Experience
Jo6Pak 05-31-2007, 05:04 PM I bought a Fretless Alembic Excel from Beaver a few years ago and it could NOT have been a more pleasurable experience. The entire deal was transacted via phone and email. These guys are very professional and knowledgeable about the gear they sell. I HIGHLY recommend this shop.
Freddels 05-31-2007, 06:01 PM I've purchased two basses from BassCentral and each transaction went smoothly. I think I got good deals too!!
JimmyM 06-01-2007, 12:55 AM I hate Beaver! The guy never ages at all! I saw him two weeks ago after not seeing him for 10 years, and even though he quit dyeing his hair blonde and grew a beard, he looks just like he did 10 years ago, which is what he looked like 20 years ago. Makes me sick!
Bass Central does rock, though. I don't often buy stuff from them, but no denying they're a great store.
markjazzbassist 06-01-2007, 10:18 AM I bought a MusicMan Stingray 5 from them and couldn't be happier. They have great customer service and prices. I will buy my next basses and amps from them, no doubt.
PaulMacCnj 06-01-2007, 11:01 AM Yes, great shop! I've dealt with Perry twice, so far, and both purchases (a bass and a combo amp) went smooth. He took an interest in answering my questions and that's so rare in retail these days.
Michael777 06-01-2007, 01:20 PM Hey Everybody!!!!

We Are not perfect but we do our Best!!!! I will be a Regular participant here so feel free to ask away, Anything gear related, Repair related, availability related and I can promise you we will answer you. Bryan R. Tyler 06-01-2007, 01:51 PM I purchased my latest Elrick singlecut online through Mike- got a good deal and it's a fantastic bass. When I called up to make my last credit card payment, Beaver answered and literally thanked me for my business at least twice as many times as any other business/person I've dealt with when buying a bass. I keep forgetting to send in this pic for the customer gallery, so I'll post it here. Thanks guys!

smperry 06-01-2007, 10:52 PM Beaver & Grasshopper hooked me up with my Phil Jones Bass P-1 Preamp. Great deal and great experience through and through...I'll be buying more from BC in the future I'm sure! :)
Marshall
coyoteboy 06-01-2007, 11:10 PM Two basses bought, Roscoe and NS, good deals great customer service. That reminds me, there's this footswitch issue...
Captain Chaos 06-01-2007, 11:59 PM Will I really get a discount if I say I'm a TB user?
Nick Bibeault 06-02-2007, 10:59 AM One of the last times i went to Florida I was able to sneak over to the Bass Central store and check out and play with some very nice equipment. It was a great day in a great place with great people!
Michael777 06-02-2007, 11:21 AM You will in Fact get an Extra 5 % off of the normal sales price if identifying yourself as a "TB'ER!!!!! On Most Items in Stock, However Some Manufacturers Mandate Pricing with a Minimum Sales Price so those things would be Immune to the Discount.
I'm lucky enough to live about 1.5 miles up the road from Bass Central, I bought a Fender 75 Jazz RI a month or so ago and the customer service from Mike and the rest of the staff was excellent. When it comes time for another amp or bass or whatever I'm gassing for I know where i'll go.
Rumblejohn 06-03-2007, 09:43 AM I live just around the corner from JimmyM, and I buy all my bass related stuff from BC, since Gard was still playing for Rico.
Was just on vacation at Asheville,NC and was going to stop by to see Gard at the Roscoe shop, but SWMBO gave me "the look". Still trying to convince her that I really do "need" an NS 5 string bass/cello.
I think that just about everyone who works there has some chops too, not just Beaver and Dave, who are monsters.
Best to all, John
AxtoOx 06-03-2007, 11:09 AM Yeah, Beaver and the boys have drained my account considerably. No regrets though. Great people to deal with.
Pickebass 06-04-2007, 09:49 AM I have purchased a couple of basses and preamps from bass central. I recently was in Orlando and made the trip to the store with my wife and kids and this was probably the most pleasureable experience at a music store I ever had with the family.
Beaver talked to my wife for at least an hour while I looked at basses.Actually because of the hospitality at the place, I think I'll be able to squeeze a couple of new basses before year end!!
yellofury 06-04-2007, 12:07 PM these guys rock
I bought an EDEN cabinet from Beaver
I went to the store to check out what they had and bought a 2X12
but I got the 8ohm speakers instead of 4ohm
and you know what?
Beaver mailed me 2 NEW 4ohm 12s and I mailed the 8ohms back
but he did alot to make me happy and it has made in impression on me of amazing service
that was 10 years ago
but it has impressed me that if I ever need anything high end ever again I will go there without question
these guys are awesome

I had been thinking for a while of adding to this thread when this post caught my eye.
I felt I could give a good (and unique) plug, given my circumstances -- I haven't yet bought from Bass Central, but I feel they deserve kudos.
A couple of years ago on the way home from Disney (I assume they get a lot of to- from-Disney traffic), I made sure to make a special stop. Similar to Pickebass' experience, my family ended up stopping in the store, too. It was Grasshopper and (I think) Gard who kept my family company as I took my time trying out some basses. My kids got stickers and everyone left happy (although I hadn't bought a bass -- I really didn't know what I wanted).
I'll always remember how gracious they were and I have confidence that the whole team there shares the same ethic. A+ folks.

BluesyCat 06-04-2007, 02:55 PM I've bought a couple of basses from Beaver. Terrific guy and store to deal with! Hey Beav, remember Lee @ Edelbrock in California....Female bassist....nothin cooler??? Here I am!
Bobster 06-04-2007, 05:17 PM Just ordered a Skyline Duck Dunn from KC and got a terrific price on it. He went the extra 3 miles to work with me.
Can't wait till it arrives in all it's CAR and blocks glory!
I'll definitely remember them next time I'm shopping...
Fezzey 06-05-2007, 06:49 AM I bought a Lakland 55-94 from Bass Central and it was a thoroughly positive experience! I live within 25 miles of the Lakland factory in Chicago and I bought my bass from Bass Central in Florida, in part, because they had it in stock! Ironically, hardly anyone in the Chicago area has Laklands in stock! Plus, free freight and no sales tax! I couldn't do that well here in Chicago!
Beaver Felton 06-05-2007, 08:58 AM Will I really get a discount if I say I'm a TB user?
YES, TBer's get a discount. Let us know up front and we'll automatically cut 5% off the normal sales price on nearly anything/everything in the store (there are a few exceptions, sorry). And/or we'll throw in goodies....
Thanx for all the support, comments, etc., guys.
Man, I wish Gard was back with us to participate on this forum(many TBer's will remember Gard Lewis, a major TB presence for a number of years). Although we speak to him ('works for Roscoe) frequently, we miss him.
Later,
Beaver Felton
Yo Beav, I'm around my friend, I'm around!
:)
I actually get a break from herding cats around Greensboro to get on TB for a few moments once in a while!
;)
Good to see you guys here!
Beaver Felton 06-05-2007, 10:37 AM I hate Beaver! The guy never ages at all! I saw him two weeks ago after not seeing him for 10 years, and even though he quit dyeing his hair blonde and grew a beard, he looks just like he did 10 years ago, which is what he looked like 20 years ago. Makes me sick!

Thanx a million, but I'm looking (and feeling) WAY older!:D
Beaver Felton 06-05-2007, 10:43 AM I've bought a couple of basses from Beaver. Terrific guy and store to deal with! Hey Beav, remember Lee @ Edelbrock in California....Female bassist....nothin cooler??? Here I am!
Lee, yes, I do remember. Cute girl on a Bike (Harley?)! How could I forget?:D
Mojo-Man 06-06-2007, 09:56 AM
I have bought two basses from Bass Central.
Beaver, and the crew, are the real deal.
Great service.
Would deal with them again anytime.
BluesyCat 06-08-2007, 02:54 PM Lee, yes, I do remember. Cute girl on a Bike (Harley?)! How could I forget?:D
:D Gee, thanks! For those of you wondering about the "Harley"...I am on BC's customer page - should be easy to spot me.
BobKos 06-08-2007, 08:49 PM A few years back I needed an Eden 115 cab to complete my existing rig. That was during the Eden buyout. The few places I talked to couldn't promise me a thing. Gard not only promised me a cab, he sold it to me very reasonably and drop shipped it out of Eden faster than was realistically expected. Absolutely outstanding job and very much appreciated.
SebbyNC 06-14-2007, 10:16 AM I bought a Lakland 55-94 from Bass Central in early 2004, and the whole crew (Beaver, Grasshopper, and maybe others...) were very cool and the experience was great. They were more responsive, even after I got the bass, than Dan Lakin (who never answered to my question regarding how to take care of the oil-finished maple neck).
Nox I have left the US, and I don't think I'll be able to order from them anymore.
Senor SQUID 06-14-2007, 08:18 PM I can't even list all of the basses over the past 10 years I have bought from Beaver, Grasshopper & Gard. I have nothing but love for these guys.
Joe, yep, you've bought a zillion things, no doubt. You're in a very select category here at BC, with special privileges as you know! And we thank you for the continued support and vote of confidence! Good luck with everything and let us know when you catch the World's Largest Squid!
DocBop 06-15-2007, 10:44 AM I'll jump up and praise Bass Central too, especially after stopping by my local shop yesterday day to new shipments of same-old, same-old.
I only go back a year or so with Bass Central and bought two basses. Both were exactly as described probably better. Prices were fair and service was quick. The one bass I'll probably call them and trade in it's a great bass just not for me. The other is the best bass I've ever owned a fantastic Zon Sonus Special 6.
I still keep checking Bass Central's website and know I will be buying from them again.
Thanks BC! :D
Michael777 06-15-2007, 12:53 PM I actually think Joey Squid has more basses than the Ocean has fish!!!! LOL
Senor SQUID 06-15-2007, 05:58 PM And since I own a Fish Market I own all of the fish in the sea too!!;)
Beaver Felton 06-16-2007, 02:23 PM I can't even list all of the basses over the past 10 years I have bought from Beaver, Grasshopper & Gard. I have nothing but love for these guys.

BillytheBassist 06-16-2007, 02:26 PM Got my MIA P deluxe from bass central. Great communication, fast shipment.... Beaver, Ed, KC, great guys to deal with.
saxnbass 06-16-2007, 03:25 PM Know that Bongo I just got? Got it from BassCentral. :D And I've got a 2007LE Bongo that's due in about a month or two that I ordered from them.
Dirty Dave 06-17-2007, 07:14 PM I live about 90 minutes from BC and finally got out there about a month ago to purchase some Bergantino bass cabs. As soon as I walked in the door I thought I died and went to heaven!! They had all the basses I've been reading about here at TB but never had a chance to try. MTD, Roscoe, Zon, Alembic. The place is awesome!!
I dealt with Mike who was very accomodating. He let me try any bass and amp I wanted with the Bergantino's, yet I didn't feel pressured to buy anything. I made the mistake of asking to try a Sadowsky and...well...now I own that too LOL!!
I'm just looking for an excuse to make another trip out there...Bass Central ROCKS!!

We insist on a no pressure enviroment here so that our customers can try gear without the added pressure of salesman lurking about. Plus the Fact that Bass Central is staffed by Bass Players with a Combined 100 years of expierience playing and buying gear , gives us a fairly unique perspective. We realize Very few places if Any carry the amount of High End Boutique Bass Specific Gear that we do and as such we are sympathetic to the need to try these things out. As Always Thanks Again for the Business!!!!!
5StringPocket 06-19-2007, 12:56 PM Bass Central has been good to deal with for me as well. Beaver worked with me on a trade-in for a natural finish Lakland 55-94 deluxe with a birds eye maple board which is georgeous and has a nice funky vibe. Then Perry got me a very fair price on an Eden WT800B and a used (like new) Bergantino HT322 cab. Great gear at fair prices.
funkybassplayer 06-21-2007, 10:16 AM while going to school in orlando, i had the pleasure of going to the best damn bass store an time i felt like it. even after moving back to texas, when i had issues with my vintage warwick, i was able to call them and get all my questions answered and was even hooked up with BC's go-to-guy at Warwick. even from 1200 miles away, BC is always m first call when it comes to new equipment and repairs. keep up the awesome work. THanks again
Steve S 06-25-2007, 02:48 PM Purchased my Darryl Jones from Bass Central. Great price and the bass was delivered within a week.
abngourmet 06-29-2007, 05:31 PM I've purchased several things through BC, most notably an Alembic Spyder and a Pedulla MVP. Each transaction was flawless and very easy, something I've not experienced elsewhere in my 30 years as a bassist.
When it came time to order my dream bass (a custom Alembic Series II John Entwistle Replica Exploiter) the choice was clear as to who the dealer would be - Beaver Felton and the good people at Bass Central. Beaver, with his competitive pricing made it possible for me to buy this bass. I don't know if I would have gotten the same opportunity with another dealer. In short, Beaver made what may have been impossible possible.
All I can say is that BC is the best bass retailer (for that matter, music retailer) I've ever dealt with. Rest assured I will steer my bass playing friends towards the good folks in Orlando.
Beaver, thanks to you and all of your employees for making this old bass player's dream come true.

fenderhutz 07-01-2007, 06:06 PM I got an Ernie Ball Music Man HD-500 used from Bass Central for a good price.
Funny story: I called about 11:05am one morning expecting the store to be open, I had a question about the availability of an item. Beaver has the store phone forwarded to his cell while he is on vacation and picks it up and I had a good laugh. He said what do you expect from bass players, they are always showing up late. :)
Totally cool he took the time to try to answer my question even though he was hours away from the store. I always get a quick reply to emails as well. Let me know if anyone trades in an Ashdown ABM 48 mini and I will gladly take it off your hands!!!!!!
I actually took the Super Chops for Bass lessons growing up and I had no idea Beaver was involved with the store. So guess the surprise I got when I called the first time and he picked up the phone as Beaver Felton. Totally cool.
JoshB 07-02-2007, 10:34 AM Beaver has been nothing but good in the one time I dealt with the store. I was interested in a SR5, and had a Warwick thumb bolt-on to trade in. Somewhere along the line, Beaver forgot that it was a bolt on and quoted me the trade in price for a neck-thru. I sent it down there, we both kinda went, "uh oh" and Beaver was nothing but nice about getting my bass back to me. He even refunded me my shipping charges and I believe I still have $50 to apply to a bass, once I get around to actually ordering one.
Oh and Beaver...I never actually cashed the check you wrote for the shipping charges...mostly because you didn't have to do that, and partially just because of how cool you were and how easy it was to work with you. Kudos. I'll get that SR5 in natural with piezo's someday. ;)

Alan, thanx a million for the comments, and of course, the support. We do try hard to earn our customers' business, this I'll say without hesitation! Please let me know if you need anything at all! :D

Hey, thanx a million for the comments and for the understanding about my mistake during that deal/quote. You really didn't have to rip the check, that was meant for you, and to show good faith/good will/fair play! Anyway, I owe you one, so please let me know if when you need anything at all. :D
Dr. PhunkyPants 07-03-2007, 07:04 AM Purchased several items from BC, including an EBMM Sterling and an Ashdown Mini 15 cab on special order. Both very smooth transactions.
In the case of the Sterling, I dealt with Beaver personally. He cut me a deal for being a civil servant. We even chatted in agreement that the color I bought (Trans Green) was way cool and how strange it was that more people didn't buy it. Came away feeling good about the deal, the bass, and BC.
At this point, I've established a close relationship with a salesman at a local establishment (Brian Meader at Chuck Levin's Washington Music Center) and I try to give him my business. But for anyone who is not fortunate enough to have a local salesperson they trust, I'd recommend Beaver without hesitation.
saxnbass 07-03-2007, 03:58 PM I ordered a bass from Bass Central a few months ago. There were no pictures of the bass I ordered anywhere as it didn't exist in the configuration I ordered yet. I got an email from GH yesterday telling my that the bass was shipped from the factory and is on it's way to Bass Central. I guess it came in today, cause I got home and there is an email from Ronnie with 2 pictures. Wanna see them? :D Of course you do, here's a link:
http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=345279
Anyways, that's what I call customer service. I request pictures, and they take them. Gotta love BC. I know I do.
goldrush1906 07-07-2007, 07:15 AM I got my Warwick Thumb 5-string from Bass Central. Beaver helped me with the decision to buy a Warwick. He was never pushy; just answered my questions. Great transaction!!
AJ Brown 07-08-2007, 09:17 AM Beaver is a class act all the way. I can't tell you enough how I appreciate is patience and flexibility.
Thanks for the Sadowsky Hybrid PJ4! I'll definately come back to you for my YY!
Beaver Felton 07-08-2007, 05:51 PM Thanx to all of you for the vote of confidence, comments, business, etc. :p

Daniel LeClaire 07-13-2007, 02:53 PM I just got a new Eden WT550 from Beaver and the gang at Bass Central. Beaver gave me a ridiculously good price and it was a smooth transaction. I would definitely buy from them again.
And now I am off to the Amps Section to show off my new purchase! :D
cheezewiz 07-24-2007, 02:23 AM I've had several dealings with BC. I bought a new Spector Czech 5 from Gard when he was there. I've also purchased a cab or two, and a double gig from BC. When I made a trip to FLA a few years ago, that was a must stop, and I got to chat with Gard a bit despite how busy he was. After not dealing with BC for a while (not for any reason, it just happened that way), I found myself on the phone with Mike the other day making arrangements to get a Sadowsky Metro RV5. All of my dealings have been great with BC.

Man, one of the things I miss most about my former gig was getting to "hang" with bassists all the time. It was definitely a good day when you were in man! :)
Mike is a great guy, he was only there for about a month before I left, but I still talk to him at least 1-2 times a week now, and always look forward to our conversations! They are all still a great bunch, we're glad to have them as a dealer.

rummy 07-25-2007, 05:13 PM So far, so good! Mike's been helping me. I put in the order today, gets processed today, and gets shipped today! Thanks for all the help! Now the wait... :\
cheezewiz 07-27-2007, 10:12 AM More good dealings with Mike and BC. I FINALLY got my Sadowsky RV5 on the way to me, after a series of my screwups, and bank screwups. Mike remained patient and friendly. Can't wait until Tuesday when it gets here!
jazzy grille 07-27-2007, 11:41 AM Hands down the guys at Basscentral are some of the coolest cats around...
Seriously everythime I go up there I get treated like a person not a dollar bill. They let me poke around and try everything I can get my paws on. The last time I was there Grasshopper was working on a Saturday ( ) I was picking up my Lakland JO 4. Scott, KC and I hung around for a bit, then Scott remembered that he had an MTD similar to the one I have on order and forced me to play it right out of the box.. I couldnt sleep that night.. Thanks Scott.. :hmm: :D
Keep it up guys and I will be "forced" to be a customer for life.. :D
rummy 07-31-2007, 08:54 AM Solid, solid experience. The bass is brand new and in the box, and it got here very quickly from Florida. The staff's been nothing but helpful, and I'm glad I brought my business here instead of MusiciansFriend. Oh yeah, the talkbass discout is great! My next purchase will be from these guys, too.
Thanks y'all!

cheezewiz 07-31-2007, 11:44 PM My Sadowsky arrived today in absolutely perfect condition. It really does seem that this one was opened to be photographed, and put right back in the box. No player wear whatsoever. Thanks BC guys.
BassikLee 08-01-2007, 02:39 PM After having lived in central FL for almost three years, I finally got my ass over to Bass Central. I walked into the store, was greeted by Mike, asked what I was interested in, and then it began.....
I said I had come by to check out a Dingwall, to see if I could hang with the fanned fret thing. I made it perfectly clear that today's mission was a recon mission, gathering intel for a possible future purchase. With that as my serve, they returned with "I think we have one in the warehouse" and proceded to open up a brand new, boxed and cased Afterburner for me to check out. That move, quite honestly, floored me. I plugged it it, played a few notes up and down, 'cupla octaves. My wife asks "why is it buzzing so much". I reply "because I suck, and the spread down low is wider than I am used to". I have to say, the strings are VERY even, the tone is very nice, articulate, lots of midrange cut. The bass overall felt like it weighed nothing. I was especially impressed with how NOT neck heavy it was, it's almost as if the neck is hollow and full of helium! I quickly put the Dingwall away, fumbled with a Lull for a few seconds, and got into a discussion with Beaver about the business end of running a business. I very briefly checked out a WAV 4 from NS Designs, kinda cool. Must have.... I was about to leave and take my wife to breakfast when the FedEx guy brought in two boxes. They were the MTDs Mike posted today, from NAMM. STUNNING basses, really. In person, they are amazing to look at.
So, to review: the guys there are great. I was welcomed, told to play anything I wanted, and then LEFT ALONE (in a good way). No hanging around in that "so, y'gonna buy something" way, and yet they were always at arms reach, or perhaps at a short yell across the store, if I had any questions. When I was done, I said thanks and I'll see you later. Mike asked if that was all I wanted to check out, but not in a "dude, aren't you gonna buy something" way. It was more of a "dude, you made the trip, why not play some other basses" thing. I told him I didn't wanna get my drool on all his basses. I was there on a mission, I got the info I wanted. I would have liked to hear the 1210 or 1212 they had, but I'll save that for next time. BC, it seems, is about ten minutes from the Federal Courthouse, where we had just been to swear my wife into the Federal Bar. Something tells me I'll be in the area again......
I did have something of an epiphany while there too, but it didn't hit me 'till we were sitting at breakfast. At first touch, the Dingwall was somewhat disappointing. Not that it isn't a GREAT bass, but I guess I had expected to hear angles sing, and have a religeous experience when playing it. I didn't. Was it the bass?? Was it me?? It came to me, several of my basses I have today are already pretty damn good! The Dingwall does have the even tension/tone thing, and is VERY comfy to play. The Lull felt a tad better than my current J5s, mostly in front-to-back depth , neck wise. Aside from that, I wasn't blown away by either of these two basses. Again, I am NOT criticizing the basses at all, just noting that the ones I own today aren't so bad after all!
Great bunch of guys, GREAT selection of basses, enlightening GAS reduction/redirection as well.

Visirale 08-10-2007, 08:02 PM I'm a local guy who comes in every once in a while. Mike is a great guy to deal with, as is everyone else in the store. 2 of my 3 main basses are from there. Every time I go in there I'm treated like a legitimate customer. That's not very common when you're only 18. They treat me like I'm just as important as everyone else that comes in.
I have stingray in for a much needed setup there with Ed right now, gonna take the MM in next week. I'm expecting nothing different than what I've experienced so far--greatness!
You guys should let me know if you get any employment openings... I'll be living up at Rollins, and BC is closer than the music store I'm working for now... ;).
Jepus 08-14-2007, 10:01 AM I'm in the process of ordering a Sansamp Prog BDDI from BassCentral. So far the experience has been great, they even matched a price I found elsewhere! Just waiting for them to contact me about the order!

Hawaii Islander 08-17-2007, 05:09 PM You will in Fact get an Extra 5 % off of the normal sales price if identifying yourself as a "TB'ER!!!!! On Most Items in Stock, However Some Manufacturers Mandate Pricing with a Minimum Sales Price so those things would be Immune to the Discount.
Thats great news! I'll be calling next week to order a new bass! Fender AV or MM, not sure which yet! :hmm:
My Martin DC16E Koa sold and was just delivered. The procedes are funding my new bass. :hyper: :D
Edit: I had my eye on a Ric 4003 Jetglo at another store but, they sold the last one.
gcb34 08-21-2007, 01:15 PM I got a great deal from Mike when I bought my Demeter Hbp-1 preamp and QSC PLX2402 power amp. Mike was very patient with me and took real good care of me. I would definitely recommend anyone looking for bass gear or an instrument to check them out.

Bassiswild 08-27-2007, 09:11 AM My experiences at Bass Central are always positive. All of the guys there rock! Everything there just makes me drool! I can't say enough good things about Bass Central! After moving to the west coast, I have not been to Bass Central in a couple years and I think I have a bad case of Bass Central withdraws...
It is always so cool to see Beaver, Grass Hopper and the other guys. Everything that I have purchased at Bass Central has been perfect both in quality and price.
Keep jamin guyz, you rock!:bassist:
Peace,
Duane

saxnbass 08-28-2007, 02:22 AM The other day I was looking at getting insurance on my music gear, I needed the receipts, so I email BC and ask them if it would be possible to get copies of the invoices again, as I didn't bring mine with me to college. Didn't think I'd need them. Within a few hours I had digital copies of the invoices for both my Bongos waiting for me in my email inbox. These guys are great.
I'll be making another order with BC very soon.... probably this week.
funkydjembe 09-24-2007, 04:19 PM Big thanks to Grasshopper!! My bass traveled a long way and plays like a dream, neck straight, beautiful, and I saved big$$ You guy's fight the good fight for bassists around the world:bassist:
Joeykun 10-30-2007, 11:30 AM I ordered a Sadowsky MS5 from Beaver and I couldn't be any happier. I had them install the VTC on the bass and it turns out the pot hole was not routed properly for it. They shipped the bass off to Roger's shop and they took care of it and dropped shipped it to my door. You can't beat that for customer service. Beaver, Ed, Mike, and KC were all great. I will definatly buy again from these guys. Great Service, Great deal, Great guys. What more can you ask for?
Thank you Beaver and Bass Central!

Bryan R. Tyler 11-03-2007, 01:26 PM Just got my EA Micro 300 in the mail yesterday- thanks again guys! If there are still any left, I'd like to order a second one in the next couple of weeks. Also, thanks for tossing in a copy of your Superchops cd, Beaver- it's appreciated :)
I wish I could get down there to try out a 4ohm Wizzy 1x10 against a Schroeder Mini10+. If you guys ever do any shootouts down at the store, let us know the results :)
Bryan R. Tyler 11-05-2007, 02:51 PM Just ordered my second Micro 300 today- since I've already gotten a Superchops CD, you guys can throw in an Elrick singlecut or something this time instead ;)

Bryan, sorry, we can't quite grant your request. However, thanx for the business. Apologies in advance if you receive additional CD's. The shipping guys have no time to check which customers may have already rec'd one, sorry.
Have you checked out the Schroeders? I like them a lot although can't get by with only a 1x10 cab regardless of brand/design, personally.
Thanx,
Beaver Felton
Bryan R. Tyler 11-05-2007, 10:49 PM Haven't tried one of the Schroeder 10s- just one of the bigger boxes. It sounded very nice, but I've heard the sound can vary a lot between the different models. I'll be getting a pair of whatever I get (probably a 1x12 and a 1x10 or two 1x10s). Each of the Micros will be driving a 4ohm cab in my tiny stereo setup.
macmrkt 01-09-2008, 03:39 PM I've been a customer of Bass Central for 6 years now. Spent a fortune. These guys offer the best prices, amazing service and ... their advice is always on the money and not influenced by how much you spend or any particular sway from their vendors. If Bass Central sells it, that's where you should buy it. My 2 cents. And a Happy New Year to the staff at Bass Central.

bgartist 01-10-2008, 07:08 AM I called and made an order on New Years Day and Beaver himself answered. I've emailed them a couple of times over he years and got immediate responses. I'd been drooling over the website for years and finally took the plunge. Got a great deal on a beautiful Pedulla. The next time I'm in the Orlando area I'll definitely drop in.
Thanks again Beaver.
DeanT 01-10-2008, 06:03 PM No argument here. All the guys at BC are first class. I just got my EBMM Bongo 4HH from them (which I ordered about four months ago) and the experience couldn't have been easier. Beaver even included a few extra goodies in the case with the bass at no extra charge. I can highly recommend BC to anyone who wants a pleasant experience buying a bass.
I think its time for me to kick in some opinion. I have deal with Beaver several times, brought an Alembic and have two beautiful Foderas on order...Beaver and the guys at BC knows how to treat a customer, period. Even if you are just looking for informations or advises, they never push you into a business, and I trust Beaver's advises (as I often lingering upon several beauties and have a hard time making decision...). If anyone looking for quality service and honest dealer, Bass Central is the place to go !! As I brought more than 15k into the store and still keep coming back...:hyper:
Beaver, if I ever in town, your store will be the first place I visit :-)
Skywalker22 01-15-2008, 12:14 PM I just had my first transaction through Bass Central. I've been emailing them constantly asking if I can get different things done, and just endless questions. They were very patient through the whole experience and it ended with me getting a nice deal on a Lakland DJ4. All of my future bass business will go to them. Thanks!
phat daddy 01-16-2008, 10:46 PM I've bought a couple of Laklands from Beaver, Mike, Perry, and Grasshopper and the experiences were absolutley wonderful. Great store (I take a 3 hour road trip every 4-6 months out there just to drool), great guys to hang with, great bassists, what more could a bass player ask for. They always see to it that you get excactly what you want, rather than just pushing the stock on the wall. Much respect for all the guys at Bass Central.
Ozroscoe 01-17-2008, 10:26 AM Just bought a new Dingwall AB 1 over the internet from BC. Sent an email that I now see I should have posted here:
Hi Mike/Beaver
Just want you to know my new Dingwall has arrived in Smythes Creek (Australia) eight days after you shipped it.
It's in perfect condition, the set-up is excellent and the Bass Central tee-shirt fits! (Now about that yellow colour...)
Gents I can't be happier with the service I've received from your store. It's always a gamble ordering over the internet, particularly so far away. Your communications has been excellent throughout and I'd have no hesitation in recommending Bass Central.
Thanks for some excellent service... and a great bass!
dmucha 01-17-2008, 03:23 PM 2 Ernie Ball Music Man basses from BC and counting!
Next purchase from BC will be a Lakland
Saint 02-09-2008, 03:49 PM Bass Central does rock! I bought a custom Alembic from them a year and a half ago and they were great. Beaver and the guys were very helpful and I still feel I got the best price I could have on a very expensive bass.
Got my SR5 20th Anniversary from Bass Central, after asking for numerous quotes on various basses over the years, and always receiving great help even when I wasn't a paying customer.
About to send an email concerning some Eden and Phil Jones equipment. :)
Beaver Felton 02-13-2008, 03:36 PM THANX A ZILLION TO ALL YOU GUYS FOR THE COMMENTS, THE SUPPORT, ETC.! I'D LIKE TO THANK EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU, SERIOUSLY!

ntnzt 03-20-2008, 03:43 PM Hi guys,
I'm hoping to buy an Elrick soon through Basscentral since they are next to impossible to find in Europe. Just need to sell a bass first. I have been chatting a bit with Ed over mail and he's been very nice and helpful.
Has anyone had any experience dealing with Basscentral from overseas? I'm living in Denmark and there's a lot of costs involved importing an instrument from the US. So to be honest I'm of course a bit concerned since it's entirely new to me. :)
I'd really appreciate if anyone who had been in a similar situation had anything to share.
Cheers,
Brian, Denmark

Brian,
Granted, as owner of the Bass Central, I'm biased, but can assure you that we ship internationally every single week, have done so for 12 years, and have an outstanding reputation with our customers all over the world.
Please see our Customers Comments Page, as well as the Customers/Friends Page, found on our website, for quite a few testimonials from a small fraction of our foreign customers. They're from all parts of Europe, Australia, Asia, Middle East, South America, etc., etc.
If convinced of our integrity, please let us know via email what you're interested in and we'll send pricing, shipping rates, and perhaps, even a way to help you with taxes/duties....
Thanx,
Beaver Felton
bassgod76 03-25-2008, 08:53 PM Some people view internet porn at work. My guilty pleasure is www.basscentral.com. Their inventory makes me drool. When I was in the Air Force, I was tired of being abused by pushy, uncaring salesmen. On leave, I would check out all the "big box" music stores. All of these places had a fair amount of inventory, but the salesmen were either guitarists or only concerned about making a quick sale. It was sad when I knew more about the product than the guy selling said item. I wanted to spend money, but I'm a big fan of developing some sort of report when purchasing big ticket items. While flipping through Bass Player, I saw the BC ad in the back. I was floored that the owner, Beaver freaking Felton answered the phone! It was like talking to a celebrity. I've seen his super chops books everywhere. He was so patient with my needs, and went the extra mile for me. In return, I purchased three basses and an amp. Very nice folks. It's sad that I live in Florida and have never visited the store. He's good to military folks also. In fact, his kindness to military reflects credit upon himself as a true patriot. God bless bass central.
I'm done with buying new basses for now, but that new Sterling 5 just came out. HMMMMMM;)

One Bad Monkey 03-27-2008, 06:16 AM I'll toss my hat into the Bass Central praise.
The three times I've dealt with them, I have been more impressed by the fact that they really make sure that what you're buying will suit your needs over just closing a sale. Grasshopper was great in answering all of my questions (and sharing Moody Blues jokes too...which is appropriate, given my last name is Moody) in regards to me purchasing an iAmp Micro 300. I don't think I could've made a more informed or better choice for my gigging right now (which is in theatres, in small pits).

Agreed on making sure your purchase suits your needs. Back in the late nineties, I was hot for a Stingray, but Beaver suggested I take a look at the Sterling. I took his advice and was impressed with the bass. So enamored I was with the Sterling, that I bought two of them from BC within a three year period. I still have my two babies, and I'm glad Beaver showed me the light.
