Well, since I've had my used Tribute-2000 for about 9 months of play as my main bass, I figure it's time to replace the 9v battery. But when I screwed off the face plate to inspect the electronics, it appears as the battery is pretty well-secured in it's cavity. There is not much room to extract it from a side, and wires attach both over the cavity and through a tiny hole in the cavity, so it looks like it would not be very safe to try and ply it out with whatever pressure is necessary without being worried about damaging the wires. This is my first active bass, so if this is standard procedure then please excuse my ignorance but I just can't pry the little bugger out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mine had a piece neoprene foam at either end of the battery securing it in the compartment. If you are uncomfortable pulling at the wire a bit to loosen it, take needle nose pliers and gently pull at the middle of the battery. Just be careful not to yank the wires loose. Also.... I took a l piece of electrical tape and went around the center of the battery and created a tab at the top so I could pull it out with ease the next time I changed. :bassist:

I've had mine for approx. 1½ years now. Had the same frigging problem changing battery: The wires were too short. No big deal, but kind of crappy!
