search BF-2 or BF-3 on this forum to learn many people prefer these to Boss's old bass version of the flanger (a BF-2B). The BF-2 is more-liked for some reason, but many people use the BF-3 as well. I've never seen any feedback here on the Digitech turbo flange, but the BF-2s and 3s frequently sell for under 50 dollars on eBay (used is the best market when you're on a budget, IME).
Another flanger to consider is the DOD FX72 (I believe that's the model number). It's DOD's take on a bass flanger, it's got stereo outs, and many people say it's a less 'metallic' and 'sterile' flanger...it's got a bit more warmth to it. I believe WalBassPlayer has a Youtube video where he shows off his recreation of a famous guy's board...he compares the BF-2 and FX72 in it.
I'm getting an DOD FX75C flanger this week...I'll let you know how that sounds, too, if you want.
i love my BF-3. using the bass in jack with standard mode is a good bassy flanger. using the guitar in jack with standard mode is basically a clone of the BF-2. there's more controls, a weird ass gate/pan mode which is sorta like an extreme flangey tremolo, "ultra" flange which is like you put all the settings to 11 and then can crank it higher, momentary mode for little bursts of flange, and tap-tempo. great pedal.
no experience with the digitech though, heh. and i hear the DOD is great but hard to find.

I don't have either of these, but what I can tell you is that the Digitech X Series pedals use lots of power. I think most of the Boss ones are under 100mA, but I have a feeling that the Digitech are all 300-500mA.
This will of course affect how many effects you can power at once, and therefore the Digitech uses the same power as 3 Boss pedals, therefore the Digitech is BAD. Just think - 3 Digitech = 9 Boss or other manufacturer. :rollno: ;)
and it's 3 times as likely to break compared to a nuclear winter surviving boss pedal

If you can find a BF-2, they're not that hard to come by, get it instead. I really like mine. The BF-3 replaced it, but I prefer the BF-2.
