VIEW FULL LIVE VERSION : Smallest chorus pedal.
Bass Junkie 06-11-2007, 10:22 AM whats the smallest chorus pedal people have seen around?
i need something small, that sounds good, mabey more than jsut one controll on it. and isnt too expensive!
EricF 06-11-2007, 10:36 AM The Analogman Mini Chorus is small (EHX Nano size), sounds fantasic, and has 2 controls (speed & depth). However, it's not cheap. If you get one, be sure it has the "deep" option included.
EDIT: Check out nad's sample (post #8)...http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=312951&highlight=analogman+chorus
Bass Junkie 06-11-2007, 10:44 AM hmm its still a bit pricey.
Bass Junkie 06-11-2007, 10:48 AM anything else?
MysticBoo 06-11-2007, 10:52 AM Well, there is the EHX Nano Clone... the smallest one out there for a low price.
The problem is, it hasn't been getting any positive feedback from bassists.
I'm intending to try one out again, as I'd like to see its problems firsthand. I think my local GC is carrying them now -I remember spotting a Nano Stone the other day there, and I think it was next to a Nano Clone.
Bass Junkie 06-11-2007, 10:53 AM some feedback on the nano clone would be nice. unless boo can nip out straight away ;) :D :p
Foamy 06-11-2007, 10:56 AM The just-a-little-bit-older Danelectro Milkshake is pretty darn small; however, I never tried it with bass.

Guyatone MC-3 MICRO CHORUS
Designed with the performing musician in mind, Guyatone Micro Effect pedals offer
unparalleled sound quality in an incredibly compact (2.75"W x 3.875"L x 1.5"H, max
weight 9 oz.) format, all at a very competitive price.

The nano clone is fantastic pedal in it's own right, but is definatly not for bass! Sound pretty swish with guitard though :crying: obviously is all IMO. Never used any other chorus' on a large amount though, for a comparison.
I actually sold mine to the guitard in my band :ninja:
EricF 06-11-2007, 11:19 AM IIRC, the Nano Clone has an issue with volume drop.
sonicvi 06-11-2007, 01:21 PM I don't think they get any smaller than the Guyatone.
KJackman 06-11-2007, 01:30 PM I'm using a Danelectro FAB Chorus which is pretty cheap and small and IMHO sounds pretty good (considering it's small and cheap). It can go from very very subtle to stupid swirly underwater garble as well.
fishtx 06-11-2007, 02:32 PM I would like to listen to the Guyatone...their Micro Delay (MD3) sounds fantastic...that makes me curious about the chorus
Pearl_jammin 06-11-2007, 02:35 PM I've heard the chorus has a bit of volume drop and is not as highly regarded as the MD3.

Me too. I like mine. Sometimes I get a weird urge to buy a "better" one (more expensive), then I catch myself and just enjoy that I have a decent chorus, even if it was only $15.
Like this....if I bought an MIA Jazz bass for $15, would I want to buy another one for $1,200.00?

IMO, it should be:
MIM Jazz - $15
MIA Jazz - $1200
But yes, I would rather have the MIM. Olé! :D

Yep, you're right. I knew that was a kinda flawed analogy - good fix!
:-)

I haven't tried it, but I love all my other FABs and I know they're pretty small. So there's my reccomendation
squarewave 06-11-2007, 05:13 PM I've heard the chorus has a bit of volume drop
I've read the opposite. I'd like to try one.
Does anyone know the dimensions? I guess I should just search...
hoerni 06-11-2007, 05:44 PM I have Guyatone and a Dano Milkshake. Both tiny, but very different. The Guyatone is more of the sterile clean chorus sound, and the milshake is more of a thick warm chorus (I think it's small-clone like). I've never tried either on bass though. (I use either a DOD or Boss bass chorus for that)

I agree 100%... this has been my cure for GAS, really... I love the pedals I have, so I can't justify replacement for 2-3 the value I spent.
