Can you choose between the 2? Are they evn compatible? What do you think?

It's not even an apples and oranges comparison since the basses are so different. A more fair comparison would be the SB-1 and the P-Bass, but I believe there was another model that's even closer to a P. (LB100 I think? I forgot since they're not that common.)

G&L bass are generally hard to find except on ebay. sb-1 pops up every now and then, but not as much as sb-2. You can always get a sb-2 and mod it to add a tone control instead of the original vol/vol. In fact, there's one for sale right now on "For Sale" section.

Yeah, you can't even begin to compare them. The L2K is a sonic monster, I still can't believe how aggressive it is when I plug it in. A totally different animal than a P-Bass.

With the neck pu soloed, series setting, and preamp off, I can, in my ears, closely cop a P bass tone with the quintessential middy bark and booku warmth (treble rolled off of course :D )

Since I like to tinker with different tones, the L2K is my laboratory of choice.
