I decided to put this in bassists because it is directly about all the bassists who read it. I am having a hard time deciding what kind of bass sounds I like, and wanted to know what EQ-ing everyone uses for what style. In everyone's collective experience, what works? what doesn't work?

Flat works pretty much for everything for me, except when I use my Beatle bass copy, which I roll off the bass response. Now and then I'll boost the upper mids slightly when I can't hear myself.
