I love everything about this bass except that the neck is too thin front to back for my hand shape and my particular joint problems. I pick it up and have a blast with it, then my hand acts up and it sits for months unplayed collecting dust - then I do it all over again. Great upper fret access. Easy to play. Nice body contours and a nicer bridge setup than many 8 string basses. I believe the body is Swamp Ash, maybe some of you wood gurus can tell me for sure. It is light and resonant. There is virtually no finish on the wood of this bass. That is how it came from the factory. If you were to do an oil rubbed finish or similar on this baby i bet the grain would pop out beautifully. I think the wood is probably even nicer than in the picture.
I have only seen one other of these basses ever. This bass is in very nice condition except for needing a set of strings.
$675 and I would prefer local pickup, though I eventually may open this up if I don't get a local taker.
The only trade I would remotely consider right now would probably be a local trade involving another 8 string with a chunkier neck, maybe something like a Dean Rhapsody 8. Here is the only pic I have at the moment...
