Ok, I'm selling my brand new Lakland Hollowbody. After we've gotten to know each other I find it's just not me. Go figure.

Condition 9.9/10, still has the new Lakland smell. This is a truly beautiful bass, handpicked 3 color sunburst from the last shipment that came into Lakland Chicago in April. The Darkstar option added $400 and the HSC another $100.

$1600 plus shipping US and Canada only please.

Thank you, it really is, and the sound is huge, especially w/ rounds.

It is substantial for a hollowbody, no scale but I'd estimate 9 or 9.5 lbs. Darkstars are not humbucking but it is quiet. They are not like regular single coil p/u's. Big ass magnets in there!

What does the coil tap switch do on a Dark Star equipped HB?

Ahh, good question, and I only have a partial answer.
Since the bodies come pre drilled from Korea, Lakland goes ahead and installs the tap switch. I can't tell you exactly how it is wired, but the net result is a kind of dub-y dropoff of highs, but not a bass boost. For more info, I would need to ask the Lakland crew. Thanks for asking.

I just talked to Carl @ Lakland. Rather than leaving that switch as a 'dummy' he adds a capacitor to the circuit to give an alternative tone . His description exactly matches mine, "instant dub".:)
