$OLD

Pretty sure I'm going to regret this someday, but I think it needs to be done. I just haven't been giving her the attention she deserves. :bawl:

Spector USA 5 string Bolt-on. Mahogany body, Spalted Maple top, EMG Pickups.

Still in the same as-new condition I received it in. Only change I made was adding Dunlop Straplocks. This bass is wonderful, I just haven't had a use for a 5 strings for some time now, and I think I could put the money to good use elsewhere.

As a fellow US Spector owner... That is a sweet bass. The price seems pretty damn good too.

How much does that baby weigh?

It's fairly light. I believe it weighed about 8 and a half pounds if I recall (compared to my bubinga 4 which weighs 10+)

I own a couple of the Spector USA bolt-on's (one spalt and one quilt), and love them...That one is beautiful also! It also looks familiar...By chance, did you buy it from Beaver?

That is a simply amazing bass. Sadly just a little too much for me right now. Picking up a nice spectorcore fretless 5 =)

Good luck with that beauty and the new member of the family!

I noticed that this has the EMG 45TW in the bridge position. Is one of the knobs a push-pull to switch this pickup between single coil and double coil configurations?

Also I saw the question was already asked, but I didn't see an answer: Does it come with a hard case or gigbag?

Thanks
Dan

Wow... yes, one of the knobs is push pull, and I never knew that until just now :p

The bass comes with the padded Spector gigbag.

Sweet! So this means fellas, that you can go from all out Jazz bass to a punchy Hum-Single configuration. This also means that I want this bass even more!

Free morning bumpage.

Moondoggy knows his pups! Actually the 40TW is an excellent selling advantage. It's the pickup I'm planning for the bridge position of my Spector.

Oh yeh....mezmerizing spalted maple (ya know I needed to say that).

I have come back to this thread a couple of times to watch the pics. At first sight, I found the "centrifugal pattern" around the neck pu to distract from the NS/Spector shape. It took some time to get used to this very typical spalt pattern, but it gets better the more I look at it. Would you by any chance be willing to consider Europe as a destination for this beauty?

SOMEONE needs to buy this! I'm not sure I'm allowed to do this, but seeing it made me want this bass even more:

There's a nearly identical Spector USA BO 5 w/ Spalted top on a certain online auction place right now. His BIN price is $1600. SO, basically this one here on TB has a Spalted top that looks TWICE as nice and it's $100 less than than an identical bass.

Incognito89x, is there any way you can put this bass on hold for me until a few of my other basses sell!??

Notice you also have a Euro 4 bolt on I assume is a Rebop. How does this bass sound in comparison to the passive Rebop? I have a Rebop and a euro neck through fiver and they sound quite different to each other. I know how something sounds is subjective, but I would think your 4 and this fiver would be similar. Eh? Thanks.

It's hard to say because my ReBop is a two-of-a-kind prototype bass. It's got an Aguilar OBP-1 Preamp instead of the usual TonePump and Dimarzio Jazz pickups instead of the usual EMG's.

The 4 has a lot more punch and high end zing to it. It's also much heavier.

The 5 has more of what I would call a biting attack, rather than a punchy one. Less mid heavy, more balanced throughout the EQ.

Don't sell this.

Believe me it's hard.
