Wow..... wow.

That's quite a lot of nice instruments you've got there.
And they are all for sale, all but the Birdsong instruments?

Sorry to hear about your condition. As a fellow diabetic, I can sympathize with that. Try to keep your blood glucose levels under tight control, and perhaps the progression can be arrested.

You have some amazing basses there. I can see about five that I would snap up - if only I had the money... that Dingwall is gorgeous.

Sorry to hear about your neuropathy... there are some good treatments these days. Get locked in with a good neurologist and internist and you'll be kicking yourself for selling these instruments. Feel better!

Woooow that collection is amazing! I want to collect basses someday, right now in college its not really an option, but hopefully someday my house will look like that!

My prayers go out to you and your family, I hope everything turns out well for you.

Just out of curiosity, how long have you been collecting? That collection is so awesome it seems like it would take years with all the rare and custom basses you have!

thanks everyone for the kind words and wishes..please bear with me as to it may take a few days to respond to the PMs...I have been diabetic since 92 and have tried very diligently to control it, I have always been active and in decent shape but for the past 2 years, have been dealing with the neuropathy(nerve damage in the extremeties- hands and feet)..Drs say I shouldnt be walking but I am...but my hands are a different story...first there was exteme pain and now no feelings,,,imagine trying to play your bass with no feeling in both your hands and fingers and as time goes by ,it will progress up your arms...The Drs( I have been to several specialists) say it is ireversible , but I have no complaints, I have enjoyed bass since 72 and have had the opportunity to have had my hands on several unique instruments and now I plan to share some and enjoy other venues in life....I am thinking positive, have no regrets and enjoying my life with my kids!!!!:)

CT,
I have always admired your collection, and I realize that your just trying to move some things here. However more important than bass is one's health, family and faith not necessarily in that order nevertheless, thanks for sharing some details of your condition, as a man of God and of faith, I am blessed to be a senior pastor, I will personally interceed on your behalf and ask the prayer team and the congregation to do the same.

best of luck, you've given me some good advice on basses before. I've seen how much 'fun' diabetes can be(lots of it in my family), you'll be in my thoughts, and as a one in a million shot, I'm taking my last $10 bucks to the casino and hoping some magic happens so I can attempt at one of those basses.... anyways good luck, and rock on

Truly sorry to hear of your health problems. I wish you all the best and hope that stem cell research or some other medical miracle makes any diagnosis of "irreversible" a reversible thing. Diabetes is one of those diseases that will likely be totally extinguished with those kinds of medical advances in the next few years. Hang in there!

I would keep my very favorite basses in case this turns out to be the case.

I've been a secret admirer of your bass collection for a couple of months now, and have visited your page countless times to refill my GAS tank every now and then. I never knew the answer to the famous question, "what would you do if you hit the lottery?", and after i first saw the easter 100, i knew exactly what i would do with alot of Cliff Bordwell's and Lecomptes :) . I wish that at 15, i'd have enough to buy one of your legendary basses, but even if i could buy one, i'd feel almost guilty taking them out of one of your lovely bass rooms. I love your ritter and the Birdsong Mesquito especially, and ive really grown an appreciation for Birdsong guitars. The best of luck to you and your families, and i think i'll be saying my first prayer in fifteen years for you.

I am deeply saddened to hear of your condition. I know what its like to love the bass and not be able to play it as much as you would like. "Arthur" has been limiting my finger dexterity over the years. And, as a newly diagnosed diabetic (three months now) I am still trying to get my my fingers to deal with the 4/5 times a day testing.

I want to say to you brother: "Fight the good Fight" And, heed the words of the previous TB'er and MD. Don't give up just because ur doctors say things are irreversable. Anything is possible.

My best for your prognosis
