If you aren't familiar with Bob Frenz he is a master luthier from Columbus Ohio. His construction techniques are varied and unique, each bass is truly one of a kind.

I'm letting these go at a steal of a price considering the build quality and the condition that this bass is in. Why get a run of the mill bass like every other player on the planet uses, when for less money you can actually own a custom boutique axe! $925 + shipping is my bottom line price.

OK here we go:

Specs:

34" scale bolt on neck,
Birdseye side markers and fingerboard dots
3 1/8" center to center at the bridge and 2 1/16" center to center at the nut
Kahler Bridge, 16.5mm spacing
EMG pickups, preamp
Birdseye maple neck,
fingerboard looks like pau ferro or figured Ovankol,
Gotoh lightweight tuners, hipshot GB7 drop d-tuner on low string.
Quilted birdseye top, ash/maple/ash back.
Thunderous Low B though currently tuned E-E
Volume, Pan/Blend Treble boost/cut Bass boost/cut
9lbs
Exc+ condition.
Includes gorgeous wooden HS case.

I would also trade this for a Sadowsky or Lull (plus cash on my part)

Damn! It's got frets...not in market for frets now....

Wish I could help you out, but a fretless is next....

Hope all is well with you.

And well-deserved bump for you too!

Well yank the frets out TB, wouldn't be that tough and a great fretboard too. :)

Being the former owner of this bass I can say it is magnificent. It's the bass that started my collecting of Frenz basses. Do not doubt for a second the quality of Bob's building, really as good as any other high end bass and even better at a Fender MIA price.

For the longest time I wasn't willing to tell anyone about the quality of his basses as I wanted as many as I could get my hands on, if I weren't building my own basses now I would still have this bass. I still own 2 of them and really could never see getting rid of them even if I was flat broke.

Oh yeah and a bump for Jack, a great guy too.

I can't believe nobody's interested in this. It frankly blows away most boutique 6'ers. I'm pretty much back to playing my 5-string sadowsky and just bought a bacchus 5 fretless so I need some $$$ to pay it off.

I've been thinking about a 6 for a while. I know it's subjective, but how would you describe the sound?

I've been thinking about a 6 for a while. I know it's subjective, but how would you describe the sound?

It's a little clearer and more fendery than the Roscoe, and Tobias or Hanewinckel 6'ers I had. It's got a little less midrange. Not quite as transparent as the Skold but it's got better bottom than the Skold. The EMG pickups and preamp are surprisingly good.
