I don't hear his name mentioned much. I first heard him play with a band called the Pigeons back in the sixty's (Jazz bass twin dual showmans). Changed the way I look at the Bass forever. Get a hold of the album he did with Jeff Beck amazing stuff.

I really dig the stuff he did with Cactus and Vanilla Fudge. His last name is actually spelled with an "e", Bogert. Great rock player.

There was a very recent thread on Tim that you can post in, just make sure to type in the search the way Joe says it's spelled.

A while back (years), I read about how he had became a real proponent of earplugs. He said he used to play festival gigs with no PA support for the bass, just a wall of SVT's. You can guess what the long term result of that was.
