There's a tune called Moody's Mood For Love. It's melody is James Moody's sax solo over a standard.I want to learn it on bass.
Does anyone here know what that standard is and is there a melody chart for that tune floating around somewhere?

I did a bit of research and the song is "I'm In The Mood For Love". I think it is a standard and it should be in the Real Book.

Yeah, Moody's solo over I'M IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE, which then had lyrics written for it by Eddie Jeffersoon and first performed by King Pleasure. And then Eddie Jefferson.

Apparently Moody dug it so much (or at least it was so identified with him) that he sings it (the lyric) himself...

But if you want to learn Moody's solo, why don't you just take off the solo?
