I'm setting my sights on some new (expensive) gear, so I need to free up some cash by putting this discontinued MADE-IN-USA Ampeg B-3158 up on the block.
I'm the second owner, and the original owner bought it brand new. With the original owner it was only used for practices, and with me this amp has only seen one medium-volume Church gig.
To quote the original owner:
This amp is very cool because it has a couple of features that other combos don't have. It has two amps in it. One for the 15" and one for the 8". In addition to using the footswitchable graphic EQ and regular EQ knobs, you can also dial in how much wattage you want each amp to push each speaker [via a "blend" knob]. So if you like booming lows, push more wattage to the 15. If you like the sound of a sealed 8" (yes, internally in the cab the 8" is sealed!), push more to the 8". [Also has a DI with pre/post preamp switch and Effects loop input and output]
Another very cool feature is the "Drive" knob. It REALLY does a good job of emulating SVT overdrive. This combo is loud for it's rated wattage and loud enough for most small - medium venues and also has a good DI if you need PA support for large venues. Plus she's American made and bullet proof. Get a reliable US made amp at the price of a junk overseas combo. She moves around real easy with the built in castors and even is designed for tilt back use if you choose to tilt it back.
This Ampeg model is discontinued, and a lot of people find it to be one of Ampeg's best products, especially since it's Made in America. You'll have a tough time finding another one of these, especially for this price.
It's in great condition, with only two blemishes on the top front-most corners and light scuffing on the sides. There's also some minor tolex damage on the rear of the amp near the DI/Line-Out outputs. See photos:
